February Favourites

Guess who is back?  It is I!

This February I took a break from the blogging world to concentrate on me.  I don't want to force blog posts if I'm not in the mood or they'll be rubbish.  After a rest, I am now back.

The first post in March of course would be my February favourites...

Botanics Microdermabrasion Polish Radiant Youth hands down is my favourite skin care product... ever!  I wish we'd met long before now.  It is amazing at giving you silky baby soft skin and getting rid of the grime hidden in your pores.  Review here if you fancy a look.

Botanics BB Cream Radiant Youth is the best BB cream I have ever tried so far!  Light and gives amazing coverage at the same time!  Perfect for those days where we don't want to cake on our foundation.  What more do we need ladies and gents?!?

Soap and Glory Hand Food has been my saviour for my hands.  My hands have been suffering because of the gym and I had little calluses form from using too many heavy dumbbells!  This stuff has been working wonders on them.  Plus it smells so good, you could eat it... but don't try to please :-p

L'OrĂ©al Shine Caresse Glosses in Romy, Eve and Princess have not really left my lips all of February.  The stains last for hours and are very glossy looking without being too sticky.  The three shades I have are very wearable.  They need the occasional touch up but are simply lovely.

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush is overtaking the buffing and stippling brush as the ultimate foundation brush. Flawless application is achieved every time I use this and I love it!  Certainly worth the investment.

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette has been my go to palette of shadows for February - as well as my NARS Isolde eyeshadow duo... yes I still love it.  I was and still am a big fan of the original naked Palette and I seriously don't know what took me so long to buy this!

ELF Warm Bronzer was something I initially didn't like and was planning to sell.  But after hearing some good things about it I changed my mind.  A little bit of this goes a long way.  The right amount of shimmer and golden glow is in this bargain product.

Benefit Hervana Blush was another product which I wasn't head over heels in love with initially   But it has been a grower and I like this little box.  A subtle pink which looks very English rose and delicate on the cheeks. Love love love.

Seventeen Doll'd Up Three Way Eyeliner is definitely going to be high street/drug store hit... A dupe for the Clarins version and about £15 cheaper. If you watch the video below you can see swatches on my hand and you'll understand why I'm loving this.

Seventeen Doll'd Up Curl Mascara is great mascara for keeping a curl and you do look all dolled eyed wearing this.  This is the first Seventeen mascara I have ever tried and I'm liking it lots.

Essie Chinchilly is the perfect neutral beige grey shade. Great for every day wear.  If you're a lover of Nails Inc Porchester Square I think you'd love this beaut!

Rimmel 5 in 1 Top and Base Coat is a cheap product which hits a lot of excuse the pun nails on the head in one sweep.  A base coat, treatment and top coat in one bottle.  This is the perfect item for those of you wanting one product does all.

So that's everything.  I have also uploaded a YouTube version if you want to have a peek!

What have you been loving lately?

Beauty Tip: You cannot escape!

Random name for a post I know but I thought it was fitting.  Kind of.  These days products are a tad expensive and you always want to get every last drop, scoop, ounce of products from you tubes and pots.

I mentioned these products in an empties post a while back but as I was about to recycle them I thought I'd see what was trying to escape without being used.

So taking a pair of scissors... be careful now if you try this.  I cut the packaging about half way down, all the way a cross.  You have to remember to keep the cut off part as this will come in handy.

Once I cut it off I looked inside and was surprised by how much left over product is inside.  Lots of expensive beauty product would of ended up at a plastic recycling centre some where if I hadn't been a little curious!

As for the other end of the tube... I popped this back on the other end by slightly bending the main part of the tube into a curved C shape.  The products will be safe and sound and ready for use.

Cool tip which you've probably heard before but I thought I'd share :-)

Have a great Sunday!

Soap and Glory ~ Heel Genius

I have dry feet... disgusting I know.  I've had them since...... forever.  On the never ending quest for cute feeties I picked up Soap and Glory Heel Genius.  I've tried a lot of products over the years but this one seems to be combating the cracked heels amazingly well.

What I do is after having a good soak in a bath or an at home foot spa (does anyone else have those or is it just me?) and removing any hard skin.  Pat your feet dry.  Then generously apply this all over the feet and then put on some cotton socks.  Next... go to bed and let the cream do it's magic whilst you sleep.  After 8 hours of sleep, you'll be happy with the results... I guarantee.

This tube is a genius, yes truly... the name is perfect for this product.  It really does make your feet baby soft.  So soft I nearly slipped over.  Yes really!  This contains macadamia oil which we all know makes your hair beautiful and soft.  So why just limited to the hair?  It also has menthol (cooling), allantoin (soothing) and a few other ingredients.  It smells nice too which is a bonus.

I'd certainly repurchase this as I think it's completely worth it, at just over £5 this is pretty inexpensive.  I honestly think this beats some foot creams on the market.  So if you have dry feet that are just craving a bit of moisture loving... Soap and Glory will do the trick!

Some more Soap and Glory!!

A sucker for '3 for 2' offers in places likes Boots and Superdrug I have been sucked in.....again!  This time I have picked up some Soap and Glory products.  Slowly I am becoming more and more in love with the brand.  I was never too fond of SG in the beginning as I thought it was an over priced brand and basically chose to ignore it. But now my SG collection is getting bigger and bigger.  I did picked up a full size tub of Flake Away but I'm not going to do a mini review, as I have done a full review here.  So here are the other two items I picked up.

Glad Hair Day and Heel Genius

After picking up a 50ml travel sized Glad Hair Day Hair Conditioner as an emergency gym bag purchase, I fell in love and bought myself a full size in the same week.  This product, like a majority of SG products smells delicious! It has a fruity scent which smells yummy and lingers afterwards.  It makes my hair very soft and shiny and just easy to manage.  The only thing is I feel like I need lots of it for my hair as I have thick hair, so sadly I do not see this tube lasting very long at all.  Very good at detangling and strengthening your hair, I'd certainly buy this again.

The next item I got is the Heel Genius Amazing Footcream.  Unfortunately since what feels like forever I have suffered with very dry feet. It is a constant battle to keep them moisturised and I always feel I'm on the losing side. The first time I used this I put a reasonable amount on my feet after a shower and before bed. I then put some cotton socks on over night so my feet would keep the cream on. By morning my feet were so soft I was really impressed. Throughout the day they remained soft and moisturised too, they didn't instantly get dry again which i don't think i ever seen before with other foot creams I've used.  With ingredients like macadamia oil and menthol this makes you feet like you've got new ones!!!

Soap and Glory obessed!!!

I am becoming more and more obessed witht the Soap and Glory brand,  I've now got myself a nice collection of products . . . Yay!!!  Another product to add to my collection is the Righteous Butter.  Yet again I was sucked in by the Boots miniatures!  At £2.50 it wasn't too difficult to say yes to!

Your skin won't know whats hit it once you start using this!  It'll be soft and hydrated due to ingredients like aloe vera and shea butter and it will smell so yummy thanks to the classic Soap and Glory scent which lasts on the skin for ages.  The butter is thick and creamy and just has that good for your skin look and feel.  Like with most Soap and Glory items the smell is just yummy.  Packed full of scented lovelies like strawberries, peaches, rose, mandarin and jasmine - whats not to like???  Soap and Glory recommend using on damp skin and waiting for it to sink into the skin before dressing. I use this on my dry skin or just slightly damp from the shower/bath.

I intend to buy a big pot down the line and I also plan to take the smaller pot when I go away on holiday to keep my skin hydrated.  You definitely will not be disappointed with this . . . there is certainly a good reason why this product was voted the best body butter 2012 in the UK!  Luckily for my US followers, Soap and Glory is now available state side in Sephora so you don't have to miss out on all the fun!  For my UK followers, Boots is the place to hop along to  - only the bigger stores though as the smaller ones can have limited items.

Soap and Glory ~ Flake Away

Don’t you find when you read raving reviews on items you’ve never tried you always wonder is it really that good?  When I finally decided to buy a raved about item and found out it really is that good to be raved about.  So I thought I would have a rave too!

Soap and Glory’s Flake Away is that raved item.  I only bought this about a week ago at lunch time as I was on a lunch time emergency gym bag essentials mission at Boots.  I was about to pay for my hair bands and my bottle of water when in typical Angela style, I got distracted by the little tempt you to buy baskets - you know the ones by the tills.  Tempted I was, and I’m glad I was.

This is the mini 50ml travel size version which costs £2.50, not the full sized 300ml pot which is £7.00.  I like that some companies offer mini versions of the best selling items, it's so cute and handy for travelling.  It's also great if you're one of those buyers who has a tendency to not finish the big pots.

So the product itself is sooooo yummy.  I sniffed this in line at the tills and that's what swayed me to pop it in my basket.  It smells delicious, you just want to dip your spoon into it like a scrumptious dessert.

Applying this to dry skin and in circular motions the peach seeds gently exfoliate the skin whilst the shea butter and the almond oil soften and moisturise.  Once the skin is rinsed and dried you can really feel the results of this beauty. . . the words wow and O.M.G come to mind.  You’ll be left with the lingering trade mark Soap and Glory smell and the smoothest skin - the words baby soft need a honourable mention here.

I have the tendency to have sensitive skin sometimes and it can become blotchy if it does not like a product.  Thankfully I've not had this happen with this, so Flake Away has definitely passed the sensitive skin test.

To sum up I’m so glad I spotted this when I was in the line, when I’ve finished the small pot I will be purchasing myself a full size pot.  I will keep the small pot so I can decant some into the small pot so I have some for the gym as it seems to be my third home!

Have you tried this yet?  What's your favourite Soap and Glory items?
