Muddy fingers...

I know that summers are meant for bright and eye catching clothes and accessories, but when I saw this next product I had to buy it...

I would like you to meet the oh so lovely Barry M nail paint in Mushroom.

This is a newly released shade, not your typical ‘summer’ shade, but who cares...look at it!!!! I’ve been keeping an eye out for a dirty, taupey, muddy shade for ages. I’ve even been tempted to try and purchase OPI’s Metro Chic because I heard this was the X-Factor of all dirty/muddy nail polishes. Boy I’m glad I held out.

This baby coats your nails like a dream. If you were in a rush, one coat of this gives excellent coverage. It dries very smooth and has a gorgeous shine. However 2 coats, brings out Mushrooms real dirty side ;-)

I purchased my bottle at Top Shops flag ship store on Oxford Street and it retails at £2.95!!!!! An excellent nail polish for only £2.95, you heard me right...honest. I’ve only applied this to my fingers for now as I’m still loving my Rimmel London Hot Shot (270), which I picked up on Monday at my local pharmacy. Excuse the dodgy toes and feet.

So its official Barry M's Mushroom has gone in to my top 5 polish colours, do you have a favourite colour??

Rambling Chit-Chat & Review

I popped into my local news agents after work yesterday in some desperate need of pointless gossip. So I headed over to the weekly magazine shelves. Whilst I was browsing through the endless supply of cheap magazines, my beady eye caught a glimpse of something with more of a wow!!

June Copy of In Style Magazine with FREE Nail Inc nail polish. It also has the oh so gorgeous Leona Lewis on the cover. *sigh*

I’ve never read In Style magazine before, but surely no one’s going to turn down a free Nail Inc nail polish. Not me for sure!!!
They were giving away 3 colours, a Red, Taupey neutral or a pinky/lilac. (Real names In Style Beach, In Style Mink and In Style Candy

The taupe colour instantly got my pulse racing, so I went through every single magazine in search of it & you guessed it....none left!!!! *Pulls sad face!* I didn’t want the red as I already have this colour or something similar, so all that was left for me to try was the pinky/lilac or whatever you want to call it.

In Style Magazine costs a reasonable £3.60, a little expensive than the usual cheap and cheerful gossip magazine but when they are throwing in a free nail polish (especially a Nail Inc one), it’s kind of stupid to turn down such an offer. So I grabbed my copy and headed for the counter handed over my money. And then spent the next hour on the tube reading my new find.

This is the second Nail Inc polish I have (the other was yet another freebie with either Cosmo or Glamour magazine, I can’t remember which one but it was the red polish hence why I didn’t want a red this time). I’ve always associated Nail Inc with OPI, in other words out of my reach. They are kind a special like the OPI, they are not your average nail polish and are supposedly somewhat ‘better’ than the high street drug store polishes. My main annoyance is the price. They are friggin’ expensive. They aren’t highly available; the only place I know that does both brands is WWW.ASOS.COM. Or if you’re in the UK you can buy them on EBAY for a less dramatic price. (£9.00 for a polish is a tad extreme for me)

So when you’re being offered something that’s usually £9.00 for a whooping £3.60, why would you say no??? I’ve decided to put the polish In Style Candy as it is called..... On today before work and my thoughts....it’s alright nothing really out of the ordinary. Just like a standard nail polish to me. I know Barry M and Collection 2000 have similar colours.

I wouldn’t say it covered my nails well, I feel it was a bit streaky. You definitely require 2 coats. I do wonder what all the fuss is about. Whichever way you look at it you’re getting a magazine for free or a nail polish for free.

Also inside the magazine they were advertising 20% off at Nail Inc when you order online. You must use the code INSTYLE2010 at the checkout. Woop woop!!!!

All in all pretty good I say.

Five Random Facts

While I wasn’t actually tagged by anyone to do this tag *sniffs and eyes begin to well up*, I took it upon myself to write down five random facts about the one and only me!!!

So here goes.... Number....

1. I like the smell of coffee, but I don’t like to drink it. I could quite happily sit all day in a Starbucks, Nero or Costa just taking deep sniffs of everyone’s coffee mugs. But weirdly I hate to drink it. Taking the smallest sip makes me gag, to the point where the people I’m with laugh their heads off. I also love the smell of brand new carpet. I have been known to get on my hands and knees and sniff the floor..... call the men and women in white jackets people!!!!!!

2. I don’t understand tweeter. Am I the only person in the world who doesn’t get it??? I’ve looked at it but I just don’t see the point. Do you??? Surely Blogging is enough?

3. I have a posh little finger. Imagine sipping tea from a posh cup and saucer and sticking your little finger!!! Yes I do that, haven’t got a clue why I do that, but it naturally sticks out. Maybe I was a posh person in a previous life, I have no idea. I also stick my little fingers out when I type. Maybe I am a younger version of Hyacinth Bouquet (Google “Keeping up Appearances”, if you want to know who Mrs Bucket is)

4. I’m in love with Vampires. I cannot get enough of them! Eric, Edward, Stefan.....you guys can bite me anytime. I don’t know what I’d be reading if I didn’t have the True Blood books by Charlaine Harris. I’ve already read the Twilight books like everyone else in the world. And I’m waiting for the release of the 10th TB book, until then I’m bookless. I’m thinking of the Vampire Diaries next....do you have any recommendations for Vampy books????

5. Writing lists, I am known for this little trait. My purse/handbag is always overflowing with post-its and little reminders and lists. I’ve probably used a whole tree in post-its for my little obsession.

One for luck,

6. I almost died a few years ago in a white water rafting accident in Thailand. Wild rapids and an inexperienced non-English speaking Thai guy taking 6 tourist down a crazy river has dangerous written all over it. We hit a big boulder and our boat flipped throwing everyone into the river and boat landing on top of us. I didn’t have a clue which way was up or down. If it wasn’t for my BF grabbing me by my life jacket I don’t want to think what could have been. We were then left stranded on rocks. Luckily 2 American guys in the boat after us saved the day!!! They picked us up for our rock in the middle of the river. They got us back to safety. I’ve never thanked someone so much as I did them two guys. I salute you!!!

If you have any 5 random facts leave comments below.
