MAC Lustering Lipstick

Hello red lippy!!

It's Christmas so of course I am breaking out the bold red and pink colour lipsticks,  I've been head over heels for bold mattes recently but I still love my glossy lipsticks.  One of my favourite buys are the Lustre range of lipsticks from MAC.

Lustering is a gorgeous pink with an under tone of a light red shade.  It looks beautiful when applied. One coat gives a sheer look but when layered it can look bolder and more pigmented.  Perfect for this time of the year.

This would be great if you're a first time bold lip wearer.  You can simply adjust the amount of layers you apply to get you're ideal look.  Great stuff!

Friday Favourite #4

Gosh it's been a while since I blessed you with a Friday favourite.  A firm favourite and not just a Friday one is my Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks.

L-R: 111, 107 and 110

I've talked about these a lot... to which you're probably bored senseless!  However these are intense reds that will knock your socks off.  For a drug store these matte lipsticks are incredible.

The staying power is exceptional for a high street lipstick.  The matte texture is non drying and extremely long wearing even with food and drink.  They feel easy to wear and they do not bleed.  These are also great to wear without a lip pencil as they are THAT good.

L-R: 111, 107 and 110

At 5.49 each you'll be nutty to not give at least one of these a whirl.  I actually have separate posts and lip swatches for all of these, so for the 107, 111 and 110 just click the numbers!!

February Favourites

Guess who is back?  It is I!

This February I took a break from the blogging world to concentrate on me.  I don't want to force blog posts if I'm not in the mood or they'll be rubbish.  After a rest, I am now back.

The first post in March of course would be my February favourites...

Botanics Microdermabrasion Polish Radiant Youth hands down is my favourite skin care product... ever!  I wish we'd met long before now.  It is amazing at giving you silky baby soft skin and getting rid of the grime hidden in your pores.  Review here if you fancy a look.

Botanics BB Cream Radiant Youth is the best BB cream I have ever tried so far!  Light and gives amazing coverage at the same time!  Perfect for those days where we don't want to cake on our foundation.  What more do we need ladies and gents?!?

Soap and Glory Hand Food has been my saviour for my hands.  My hands have been suffering because of the gym and I had little calluses form from using too many heavy dumbbells!  This stuff has been working wonders on them.  Plus it smells so good, you could eat it... but don't try to please :-p

L'OrĂ©al Shine Caresse Glosses in Romy, Eve and Princess have not really left my lips all of February.  The stains last for hours and are very glossy looking without being too sticky.  The three shades I have are very wearable.  They need the occasional touch up but are simply lovely.

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush is overtaking the buffing and stippling brush as the ultimate foundation brush. Flawless application is achieved every time I use this and I love it!  Certainly worth the investment.

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette has been my go to palette of shadows for February - as well as my NARS Isolde eyeshadow duo... yes I still love it.  I was and still am a big fan of the original naked Palette and I seriously don't know what took me so long to buy this!

ELF Warm Bronzer was something I initially didn't like and was planning to sell.  But after hearing some good things about it I changed my mind.  A little bit of this goes a long way.  The right amount of shimmer and golden glow is in this bargain product.

Benefit Hervana Blush was another product which I wasn't head over heels in love with initially   But it has been a grower and I like this little box.  A subtle pink which looks very English rose and delicate on the cheeks. Love love love.

Seventeen Doll'd Up Three Way Eyeliner is definitely going to be high street/drug store hit... A dupe for the Clarins version and about £15 cheaper. If you watch the video below you can see swatches on my hand and you'll understand why I'm loving this.

Seventeen Doll'd Up Curl Mascara is great mascara for keeping a curl and you do look all dolled eyed wearing this.  This is the first Seventeen mascara I have ever tried and I'm liking it lots.

Essie Chinchilly is the perfect neutral beige grey shade. Great for every day wear.  If you're a lover of Nails Inc Porchester Square I think you'd love this beaut!

Rimmel 5 in 1 Top and Base Coat is a cheap product which hits a lot of excuse the pun nails on the head in one sweep.  A base coat, treatment and top coat in one bottle.  This is the perfect item for those of you wanting one product does all.

So that's everything.  I have also uploaded a YouTube version if you want to have a peek!

What have you been loving lately?

Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick ~ 107

I have never been that daring, especially when it comes to lip colours.  Hey I don't mind wearing something bright and bold whilst I'm doing the ironing, but when it comes to venturing outside I stick to 'safe' colours.

However when I decided to film my bold red lip video I knew I needed something Ă¼ber daring. This is where Kate Moss comes in... Well not literally!

Rimmel London Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in 107

She's bold, daring and damn right scary... But actually I'm quite fond of this matte lippy. A great autumn winter shade this deep  berry red shade will suit any skin tone more or less.

I love that this is matte as I think if this had been a glossy finish I wouldn't of been so keen to try it.  Where this matte I think it looks better on the lips, more natural so to speak (if you ignore the big bold part anyway). If it had been glossy I think it would of been over kill.

Swatches plus me breathing on the lens....oops!

The staying power of this is superb and it doesn't budge for hours, it is really long lasting which I love. I found it easy to apply as it was creamy.  My advice before applying this is to exfoliate your lips and use a lip balm to prep the skin. I found it easier to apply to soft silky lips rather than dry rough ones.

Considering I was apprehensive in purchasing this I have actually worn it a few times and had some good comments. I feel comfortable wearing this almost to the point I don't realise I'm actually wearing it.

For my first experience of the Kate Moss lipstick I would give it a big thumbs up.  Plus the lipsticks are so purse friendly at £5.49 you'd be crazy not to buy.

NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss ~ Tea Rose

I’m not the biggest gloss fan. If there were two football teams and I had to pick a side, I’d pick the Lipsticks over the Glosses.  Sometimes they are  just too sticky I don’t see the point.  They end up all over the place and in your hair if you know what I mean.

One brand of glosses I don’t mind wearing are NYX.  Here I have Tea Rose which is a pretty medium pink.  With these NYX glosses the first thing you notice is the packaging.  It’s so cute and girly with the embossed bow on the handle and secondly the scent and flavour is so yummy.  This has a sponge applicator which is slightly angled for easier application.

The name Mega Shine is true to form as this are soooooo shiny and glossy. On a positive note it is not too sticky which has the thumbs up from me.

I also own Sponge Cake which is natural beige colour with a splash of shimmer.  I will show you more of this soon.

NYX Cosmetics are now available online in the UK.  Click here to go to the website.  Sadly they are not yet to launch in stores like Boots or Superdrug, but I hope they launch in a store here soon.

Have you tried NYX?

Paul and Joe Blogger Event

I’ll be honest from the beginning of this post and say I have never tried anything from Paul and Joe.  Not because I haven’t wanted to, but I just haven’t got around to it.... yet.  So when I was sent the invitation to join Paul and Joe on Monday night I cannot describe how excited I truly was.  To discover a brand and be so hands on was a really exciting moment for me.

The added bonus of the evening was meeting their head makeup artist Craig Ryan French.  He was absolutely amazing, a total gem. His love and enthusiast approached to the brand and the forthcoming beauty releases left me feeling intrigued to find out more about the brand.

Recognise any of these ladies...

This is Craig Ryan working his artist magic on the ladies by showing us all that anyone can wear lipstick and especially how to apply it.  I honestly learnt some new things from him which I intend to put into practise. My favourite quote from Craig Ryan was 'gloss is for girls but lipstick is for women'.  Such a true fact.

Pearl Foundation Primer, Lipsticks and Lip Lacquers

Adorning the tables were lots of goodies to be swatched and played with.  The most beautiful item I think is the Pearl Foundation Primer (above picture top row).  This is Paul and Joe's sell out primer which is infused with orange flower water, white lily extract, jojoba oil and apricot extract.  There are lots more exciting ingredients inside including micro sparkles which add luminosity to the skin.  This is certainly on my wish list... isn't it just stunning?

Which one to buy...?

They were also showcasing their lipsticks and their cute lipstick cases (more info below on the cases).  They passed around their lipstick to us bloggers to swatch and after swatching them all on my hand I can tell you I'm in love with their lip line.

Paul and Joe also gave us goody bags...

Lipstick refill in Le Marais(208)

In my goody bag I was given the refillable lipstick in the shade Le Marais (208).  Paul and Joe have a unique concept of having refillable lipsticks.  Meaning you have a case which can be bought for £5 then you insert the lipstick you wan to use.  The lipsticks retail for £12 and there are lots of beautiful shades to pick from.  They also have different finishes from sheer, full and natural pigment colours and looks.
Lip Lacquer in the shade 09

This bold lip lacquer is a combination of their eye catching lipstick shades plus a amazingly glossy texture.  This very pigmented, far more pigmented than I have seen any other gloss on the market.  It looks a little scary as shade 09 is a bright red but we'll see...
Nail enamel 017

The pinky peach polish is a dup for the blusher Orgasm by NARS i think. It has a faint gold shimmer which is gorgeous.  This is very rose gold and I love it.  And the bottle is a master piece... very art deco.  All Paul and Joe packaging takes on this look.

Lip Pencil Duo in the shade 01

And finally the the duo lip pencil.  Two complimentary shades one in a pearl finish and the other is matte. I've never really been a fan of them (lip liners I mean) but I think this will convert me.  The shades are just very me.  They promise to be long lasting and non-smearing.  I cannot wait to wear this out and about.

It was really overwhelming to receive so much from them and I'm planning on placing an order to buy myself more.  Thank you Paul and Joe for a great evening.

You can pick up Paul and Joe online at ASOS and BeautyBay.  You can also go to Harrods, Fenwick (New Bond Street) and Selfridges to see the brand in person.

Natural Collection | Crimson

So the festive season is in full swing it seems, so I thought I'd crack on out some bold lips.  I'm always bit scared to wear a red, as I don't feel like it's a colour I can pull off.  Well I thought I'd be daring and give it go.

Natural Collection Moisture Shine in Crimson

I decided to shop my stash and grabbed Crimson from my collection.  A bright eye catching red which glides on smoothly.  This is a classic red which costs pennies... a whole 199 of them.  If you're someone who loves supper smart packaging you won't find it here as it's very basic.  But it's what's inside that counts.

Pukka up!

This has a very moisturised look without being too glossy.  It lasts on the lips quite a while... around 2 hours which is very good.   I honestly don't think you can go wrong with this.

This is my second Natural Collections lipstick and I actually think the quality is very good considering the price.  I have previously reviewed Apple Blossom which you can see here if you'd like.

What's your favourite red lipstick?

Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain

This was one of those spontaneous buys ... I didn't set out to buy.  It was kind of a 'let's try it and see' purchase.  Rendezvous is a chubby orangey-coral crayon from Revlon. I know these have been on the market a while but hey I'm a little slow sometimes ;-)

Renderzvous

With its gel like formula this crayon glides on effortlessly.  I love the design with its pencil like tip.  When you need more product simply twist the silver part and up pops more and it is also retractable too!  Easy peasy!

The tip of the crayon is perfect for applying the stain to the cupid-bow area of the lips, whilst for the rest of the lip I like using the side of the crayon.  A quick sweep back and forth and the job is done.

When applying it is smooth and easy.  It looks very bright but when it's on the lips it takes on a lightweight stain appearance that looks very glossy.  This can be applied to give a light stained look or built up for a more intense look.

The balm like consistency is lovely and the added scent which to me smells minty is a nice touch.  The minty dental floss smell can be a little strong and might be a little off putting to some but it fades after a short time.

Swatches and on the lips

So does it stain you ask?  Yes.  As a test I applied this about 8pm last night then went to bed a few hours later.  The result... I woke up with stained lips! No it was not a perfect application like the above pictures, but you could see I was wearing the product.  Top marks for lasting the test of time!

Incredibly similar to Clinique's version of Chubby Sticks, the Revlon sells for around £7 whilst Clinique retails for £16.  You can buy two and get change compared to Clinique!

Next time I'm at a Revlon counter I'm certainly going to check out perhaps a pinky toned crayon as I really love this.  Have you tried these?  So do you recommend any colours to try?

Haul time!

Now you all know I like a good old haul.  I'm always doing it but sometimes I just don't tell you... LOL!  However today I thought I'd share what I got recently in Boots.  I'll do reviews on all of them no doubt!

Some of the items I got are new on the market but I know the Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stains have been lurking around for a while.  So what did I pick up....?

Rimmel's Scandal Eyes Waterproof Eye Pencil in Black.  I have taupe, nude, bronze and purple (you can see swatches here)... but I really wanted the black also.  And I finally found one.. yay!

Maybelline 24 Hour Colour Tattoo Eyeshadow in Pink Gold.  I adore my other Tattoo eyeshadows, so when I saw they were launching this colour I knew I have to run out and pick this up.  See my swatches of the other tattoo shadows here.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Rendezvous.  Kind of a lets just try you out purchase.  I swatched it on my hand in store and it looked lovely, so I thought what the heck.

L'Oreal Eyeshadow Quad in Nude Lingerie.  I didn't need this but it caught my eye and the colours looked beautiful when I swatched them.  Another what the heck moment and I'm glad I did.

Reviews and pictures to come!

L'Oreal Rouge Caresse... the pinks!

Way back in April I treated myself to one of the new (at the time) L'Oreal Rouge Caresse lipsticks in Dating Coral.  Since April, Dating Coral has not left my handbag - it has become a permanent fixture in there.  As I love Dating Coral so much I thought I'd pick a few more to bring home to keep it company.

Cheeky Magenta and Lovely Rose

I love pinks and these two are very wearable.  Cheeky Magenta is much more a brighter hot pink compared to its softer rosy pink friend Lovely Rose.  Due to their sheerness you never get a bold lip but more a soft delicate look which I think is more appealing than the plastered on lipstick look. I think they are very wearable and you can apply them almost like a balm without a mirror.  It's easy peasy!

L-R lip swatches : Lovely Rose and Cheeky Magenta
L-R hand swatches : Cheeky Magenta and Lovely Rose (natural and flash lighting)

These two lipsticks like Dating Coral catch the light beautifully and look very natural.  There are so many good things I could say about them, I think they are excellent and really worth the money.

The Rouge Caresses are pretty much a duplicate of the Revlon Lipbutters in my opinion.  They look the same on the lips and have a similar price tag, but I always feel more drawn to these.  Especially the packaging, I just think it looks more posh and mature compared to the cheap looking Lipbutters.  But never the less I still love them too but just love the Caresses more!

Have you tried any of the Rouge Caresses yet?  What's your favourite?

MAC Lipstick ~ Sweetie

When I first got this lipstick it was one of those shades I wasn't quite keen on and said to myself why did I get you??  My initial thoughts were not positive, I liked it but wish I'd chosen something else instead.  Well times have changed and now this lustre is one of my go to MAC lipsticks.

Swatches and the tube

A plumy raspberry colour Sweetie is not a MAC lipstick you hear about all to often.  I like this personally as it can appear quite bold and I'm not too fond of bright reds, so it's nice to chose something else that I feel makes a big impression.  Sweetie is quite similar to Lustering and Plumful which I picked up a while ago after a Back2MAC session  - click here.  Also in the lipstick there is a very fine mirco-glitter which cathces the light perfectly.

Here are some swatches for you to look at. . .

Considering this was a Back2MAC, I'm pretty impressed with my buy.  I would certainly pay full price for this lipstick.

What is your 'go to' lipstick?  Do you any favourites?

Korres Lip Butter in Plum

I have popped my Korres cherry finally!!!  After hearing people talk about the Korres Lip Butters for so long, I have finally bitten the bullet and purchased myself one.  I’ve never even seen the lip butter range in person so I literally chose this one by googling and looking at blog reviews.  Ahhh the powder some bloggers have ceases to amaze me!

I chose the colour Plum which as the name suggests is a plumy shade.  At first glance it looks very dark but when you apply to the skin/lips it doesn't apply quite so dark.  By all means it is still dark just not so wow-in-your-face dark like it appears in the pot!  When you apply to the lips I like the fact it isn't too bold more like a tinted stain look almost like you have just eaten an ice lolly.

The pot and the swatches

The lip butter itself has the most yummy smell, for such a small pot this packs in a lot to excite the senses.  I cannot quite put my finger on the name of smell yet, but it certainly is lush!  The shine you get when you apply to the lips is almost gloss like - you could definitely wear this alone.

The butters are full moisturising and soothing ingredients like shea butter, rice wax and natural oil extracts making the lips super soft.  Korres sell many other colours so if Plum doesn't quite take your fancy there are six others to chose from.

I will say one or two things though, firstly as this is quite pigmented I wouldn't apply this without using a mirror in case I made a bit of a boo boo when I put it on.  If it were a clear balm then that would be a different story.  Also it says this is great for chapped lips, I'm not sure personally if I would want to use a balm that is so dark like this on chapped lips in case it sat on the lips strange.  I would prefer a lighter or clear version if my lips were very chapped.

Have you ever tried the Korres Lip Butters??

Autograph Coral Lipstick

When I saw Marks and Spencer had a 20% sale on their makeup I was stopped in my tracks and pulled over there by some invisible force.  I've never bought anything from Marks and Spencer makeup line Autograph before, I always thought it was perhaps aimed at the older ladies. . . not girls my age.

When I was actually looking through what they had I was pretty surprised by how nice some of the items were.  One of those items was this coral lipstick called funnily enough Coral!

Firstly the packaging - I love it!  Something normally associated with a high end brand, this lipstick has the push button mechanism to release the lipstick from the container.  One click on the coral name and the lipstick pops up so you can pull it out - cool huh?!?  The container and tube itself are quite basic looking - nothing to fancy.  But I love the packaging just for the clicky thing!!!

I'm not usually a shocking red or bright coral fan, I'm normally into pinks but I'm quite liking this as its not over the top bright - it can look natural.  This is quite buildable so you can apply and dab it off with a tissue for a subtle look or you can load it up for a whooooaaaa she got lipstick on look.

I find the lipstick catches the light almost like it has a micro-shimmer in it, but I cannot be 100% sure of that.    It is creamy to apply and lasts reasonably long time, but after a while It starts to feel a drying.  If like me you don't like a bold lip then I'd recommend a colour like this - you can be as bold or not so bold as you like!!!

NYX Lip Smacking Fun Colours

Today I have another much loved American brand which is NYX.  Depressingly we don't get NYX in the shops in the UK.  But you can pick up items on quite a few things from online stores like Cherry Culture, Love Make Up and sometimes Cheap Smells sells some bits and pieces now and again.

(L-R) Indian Pink and Thalia

First things first, I love the packaging.  It is basic but I like how the colour of the lipstick is shown at the bottom of the tube - so you can see what colour it is.  Great when you're in rush trying to pick a lipstick.

(L-R) Indian Pink and Thalia

The lipsticks themselves are very pretty I have the shades Indian Pink which is a pinky-coral and Thalia which is a natural muted mauve-brown shade.  The lipsticks are very pigmented and have a creamy texture. They apply fantastically - you hardly need to make any effort!

(L-R) Indian Pink and Thalia

I would recommend blotting your lips after you apply them for a more natural look, as they can make the lips looked a little caked depending on how much you apply.  They are quite long lasting, staying on for up to two hours especially if you avoid eating and drink.  On to the lip swatches . . .

(L-R ) Indian Pink and Thalia

I love the colours, Thalia is much more a neutral colour as Indian Pink is more of a coral.  They are velvety and a great quality for such a inexpensive brand.  Gives MAC a run for their money!!

Have you tried NYX?

Who says makeup has to be expensive?

Recently for my TAG video 'A Makeup Look for £20' I showed you a new lipstick from Primark.  I'm loving this lipstick so much I knew it warranted a well deserved shout-out blog post.

Sadly this lipstick has no name and number, so it is nameless.  However I have decided to call it hot pink poker dots just for fun!  As you can see from the packaging this lipstick is £1.00!!!  Unfortunately yes it looks cheap, the packaging is basic, it doesn't taste the greatest but yes it is good when it comes to colour pay off, texture and overall look!

While some brands have eye watering price tags, I'm here to prove there are products out there which are reasonably priced.  For instance MUA is so affordable, their lipsticks are also £1.00.  If you're in your teens just experimenting in makeup for the first time or are a newbie to making YouTube video's - is there so much good quality items on the market for so little money.

The most comparable lipsticks I could compare the colour to, is probably MAC's Snob or Speedial.  They are also bright pinks.  There are probably other brands which have similar colours, but Snob and Speedial are ones in my collection already.

Have you ever tried any makeup from Primark?  Or do you know any brands which are inexpensive that you'd like to share with us?

Topshop Makeup Haul

Most people on Friday nights are out on the town after work.  Me on the other hand headed to the gym for a hard core workout.  However not before nipping in to my local Topshop for a look at their makeup collection. Here's what I treated myself to.

There were so many things I could of bought, but I held back.  Don't you just love the packaging?

Eye Crayon in shades Sun Shower and Bramble

There were about 5 different shades in the Topshop store at the New Change, Cheapside to choose from.  I opted for the bronzed-golden look and chose Sun Shower and Bramble.  When I did the obligatory swatch in store I was completed shocked when it came to the colour pay off with these two.  They stuck like glue and didn't move, I knew I had to get these home at once.

At £7.50 each and pretty much resembling a MAC Shadestick, apart from the more expensive price tag.  Topshops cheaper alternatives are much more attractive. these long lasting metallic crayons are creamy and apply like a dream.  But the truly amazing thing is they last a long time and don't budge.  After the swatching on the hand I literally had to scrub my hand to remove it.

Here's swatches of the crayons and the lipstick.

  Rumour Has It . . . Sun Shower . . . Bramble

Lipstick in Rumour Has It

When I think of this lipstick I just want to start singing Adele . . . a dusty rose brown wouldn't be my typical choice of colour.  But this is actually really nice, kind of a slightly darker version of my own lip colour.  Very natural looking.

When you apply to the lips it's feels silky and has quite a creamy velvet finish.  It just looks eye catching instead of a boring dusky rose brown, it catches the light.  What I love the most is it lasts for ages.  This is my very first lipstick from Topshop and I'm super impressed with it's performance and look!!

Nail Polish in Geography Teacher

There's something strangely nice about this £5 camel brown polish.  Two coats and no top coat and the glossiness is just perfect.  Oddly though, I think the name suits this well in a weird way.  My collection of Topshop polishes is slowly building, they have a excellent colour selection . . . what to buy next?

Have you ever picked up any of these?  Do you have any recommendations?

Shopping my stash #part1

I am currently loving shopping my stash as opposed to hitting the shops.  It is a great money saver firstly and also it makes you rediscover items you have forgotten you owned once upon a time.  So I thought now and again I would shop my stash I show you my finds.

My most recent SMS (cheeky giggle) is the rediscovery of a gorgeous lip product by Bobbi Brown.

Pink Retro is a Creamy Lip Colour Lipstick which gives the perfect tint of pink to your lips.  I really love the formula to this, it so soft and creamy (hence the name) and it glides on with a long lasting glossy finish.

Now when I say glossy though I don't mean in the sense of 'sticky' glossy, I mean balm-like, which is really nice.  It does contain shea butter and skin conditioners which help moisturise and soften your lips.  I always find my lips are very soft after using this.  You also feel like you're wearing nothing on your lips and it looks very natural and not an overpowering colour.

I love the sleek packaging.  It's different as it actually metal not plastic, which makes it feel more glam.  Bobbi Brown retails this for £18.00 and there are 18 other amazing colours to choose from if Pink Retro doesn't quite float your boat.

Have you tried any Bobbi Borwn lip products?  Have you been shopping your stash at all?

Also apologises for being AWOL for the last couple of days.  I had no pre-written blog posts and I have been a bit busy.  I have also been suffering froma bit of bloggers block in terms of things to write about. . . but I am back!

So for now I bid you night night,

Bourjois Effet 3D in Beige Elastic

I've never been a real gloss fan, the sticky, gloopy stuff you put on your lips and within a few minutes its either worn away or your hair gets stuck in it.  Annoying!  Well that might be about to change.

Let me introduce you to Bourjois Effet 3D in the shade 01 Beige Elastic.  These hydrating glosses create beautiful luscious lips which moisturises your pout up to 8 hours.  Would you wear a gloss that long?

The hand swatch in natural lighting

The standard hand swatch shows the shine the Effet 3D has hidden inside the tube.  I opted for a natural beige colour as I normally choose something with more colour but I wanted to try a more nude and subtle shade.

And on the lips. . .with a flash

I like this on the lips, it looks very natural and not overly glittery its more of a micro-shimmer which is more stunning. On application to the lips it's not like the classic gloss, it applies like a silky balm and the wand/brush is so precise.  Your lips don't stick together like you get with some 'other' brands and it lasts a good long time.  However I will say when you rub your lips together there is a slight grainy feeling.  It's no problem just a bit strange.

If you're not a fan of this shade however, perhaps one of the other 14 Bourjois shades have on offer with take your fancy.

L'Oreal Rouge Caresse . . . yes please!

There was so much hype concerning the Revlon Lip Butters it's nice to see another lipstick is starting to take over.  I blame Fleur De Force for this purchase as she had purchased one of the new Rouge Caresse L'Oreal lipsticks and was showing it in a recent post or video.  The rest is history as Fleur is a god so what she says goes. . .to me anyways.

I love the sleek clear packaging which I have to say I prefer this over the Revlon Lip Butters.  I think this looks more mature.  Revlon looks cheap next to this beaut.

I opted for the coral of the collection named funnily enough - Dating Coral.  In my pictures it comes cross very red but do not fear however as it is an illusion.  These all look bright in store but when swatching and on the lips they are balm like.  So light weight and fresh a very similar consistency to the Lip Butters.  Not the same but all most.

On the lips it's a joy to apply you can do it without a mirror even.  It glades on and applies a beautiful hue to the lips that has a slight luminosity to it so you can wear it without a gloss.  This is perfect on it's own.  When swatching in store, there was not any that made me think no thank you.  They were all pretty, I had a hard choice picking just one!
What it looks like in natural lighting.

My over all impression of these is . . . I like them - a lot!  There is 10 in the collection and I wish I had done the 3 for 2 offer in Boots at the time.  I'd love to buy more of them.  They cost £7.99 each and completely worth the pennies.

Have you seen these?  What do you think?
