Sale hauling and dups!

I love Boxing Day sales.  I don't normally venture out into them but this year I decided to give it ago.  It probably helped that I had to return some Christmas presents that were the wrong size, so I had a pretty good reason to pop out.

I went into TK Maxx and picked up these great buys...

2 x Nails Inc Collection Sets and CHI Nourish Intense

The Nails Inc polishes had a £25.00 original price tag on them. TK Maxx had them reduced to £14.99 which is such a excellent price.  The CHI was £13.00 reduced to £4.99.  Massive savings all round.

These are all the polishes in the sets.  Nice range of colours also.

Swatches of all the polishes:

Sorry for the dodgy application of my polish, was rushing

Seeing the Harriet Walk green polish got me thinking I'd seen this kind a colour before.  Collection 2000 Bonga Beat  is extremely similar if not a duplicate to Nails Inc Harriet Walk.  Be it a slight difference.  See...

Lovely greens all round

The Nails Inc is more of a Teal colour and the Collection 2000 is a Minty Spearmint colour.  The colour 2000 is only £1.79 cool price to pay.

So everyone thats it for now...  Happy New Year to you all!!!! See you in 2011!!!

Lots of blogging love, Angela xox

BH Cosmetics Brush Review

I first got to know about these brushes through a YouTube video Blair made, aka Juiceystar07.  She mentioned these, so like a carrot hung in from of a hungry donkey (lol)... I followed in her foot steps and picked up a set of my own.  Which I'm so glad I did.  Why? Because they are absolutely brilliant!

B H Cosmetics Brushes come in a wallet

They are great for travelling.  I took these on my not so recent honeymoon.  The size of the brush wallet was such a handy travel friendly size.  I am very much a fan of short handled good quality brushes.  Unfortunately I wear glasses due to short sightedness.  So when I take my glasses off to apply makeup, I usually have to be pretty close to my mirror to see.  Long handled brushes usually hit the mirror which can be an annoyance....but these short handled little beauties are a blessing.

Brushes in their handy case!

These brushes are all made from animal hair (their website says; Goat, Pony, Sable, Raccoon and Taklon for your reference) The brushes are wonderfully soft and I haven't had any brush hair shedding from using them or washing them.  The handles have a gloss black aluminum ferrule and birch wood handles.  They don't feel cheap in your hands.

Close  up of the brushes.

You get 10 brushes which include a Powder brush, Blush brush, Foundation brush, Smudge brush, Large eyeshadow brush, Small eyeshadow brush, Eyebrow brush, Lip brush, Pointed Eye Liner Brush and a Mascara brush.

They brushes cost $39.95 which is a Great British Pounds equivalent to approx. £25.00 (that doesn't include P&P).  If you think that's expensive think again... £25.00 divided by 10 brushes is £2.50 per brush.  Not too bad huh?  They also sell red handled brushes but i opted for the natural looking ones.

If you up for purchasing these, click right here for the website.  The site is based in the U.S., but if you only purchase the brushes like I did you won't have to pay Royal Mail import fees.   The company take most forms of payment and will ship pretty much any where.  So give it a go, I love them so i think you will too!!

Lazy Locks

Happy November everybody!! This is my guide to lazy locks, so easy you hardly have to do anything - honest. We all have to admit we have evenings where we wash our lovely locks then cannot be bothered to style them afterwards. If this is you all raise your hands and say aye.

Usually I’ll just wash my hair on a Sunday then just wrap my towel round my head and be done with it.  Or I’ll plait and braid my hair and let it dry.  But last night I chose differently.  Ages ago I picked up this from Claire’s.  I introduce you to...

The Rageaze – Price £ 5.50

Ragging your hair definitely isn’t a new trick; it’s been about for years.  I remember my lovely Mummy putting rags in my hair as a child...then I used to look like a raggy doll.

To make myself sound really old by saying this...but in my day ragging was done by wrapping hair around a piece of rag i.e. t-shirt, cloth, cotton sheeting...then tying the ends in a knot.  Simples.  Rageaze have changed this hearty tradition by changing the rag for a piece of thin canvas paper kitchen towel like material.  Strange.  It also contains ingredients – even stranger!  The ‘rag’ is damp with alcohol and other weird chemicals.  Not quite sure if it helps the curling process...who knows.

So dividing your towel dried hair into pig tails and selecting hair and pieces of rag you you’ll soon end up looking like this....

Excuse the pjs and lack of makeup.

Wrap it up with a towel to stop your pillow getting damp.  Also remember you get used to the discomfort of the buns of hair sticking in to your head.  Then all you need to do is catch your beauty sleep and fast forward 8 hours ...tadda!!  The morning after and pretty much in one piece!
Rags in and rags out!

With a little teasing with my finger tips and a few quick sprays of Cheryl aka Elnett.

You get this finished article!

Love it!

I’m really impressed with this product, the fact that there is no heat, no styling products

involved and just beauty sleep used to create this is brilliant.  Basically you have to put

hardly no effort in at all!

I have to be honest, I am a little puzzled with two aspects of this product.  Firstly when I picked this up in Claire’s I thought it would contain pieces of cloth/cotton rag – not something that wouldn’t look out of place whilst cleaning your kitchen or bathroom.  The ‘rags’ do have the resemblance to Flash disposable kitchen bathroom wipes (See the close up pictures).  Secondly, they do have a chemical smell.  Why they contain chemicals is a mystery to me, luckily the smell doesn’t transfer to your hair.

The Rageaze pack contains 25 individual sheets and I used approximately 8 to 10 in my hair to achieve this look. I wouldn’t say they are reusable, but if you take them out carefully then maybe you can.  Cotton cloth rags would be more Eco-friendly though.  Worth a thought when you’re going to throw out an old T-shirt.

Long story short I would definitely try the ragging technique again!!!!

Have you ever tried ragging or this products???

Disappointed but a happy haulage..

London towns newest mall/shopping centre The One New Change opened yesterday for the very first time, so after work I quickly went to discover this shopping wonder.  The name, which i personally think is such a random name does nothing for me, so much that I can barely remember it.  Hardly catchy like say... Westfields!

Evening Standard article...

I have to be honest and say i think the new mall is a disappointment.  If you are someone who loves major shopping with with the likes of Karen Millen, Dune, Phase Eight, Banana Republic, Guess, LK Bennett, Reiss, Hobbs, Mango for example - then this is the place for you.  But if you are a high street girl like myself, you won't like this i think.  Yes they have Topshop, Next, Accessorize and H&M but that's it!!! Yes really.

Personally think the whole place was aimed at a City worker with a very large pay packet.  Not the strapped for money normal person.  Oxford Street is sooooo much better, just more crowded :-(

Now I wouldn't say i came away empty handed.  I made a pit stop at Accessorize.  I've always liked the tiny shoe box size shop which is rammed full of booty, but i have to say it is a bit pricey.  So I don't venture in them too often.  Looky what i got....

Pretty dangley things...

£30 for 3 items is a little pricey, but i don't do it all the time.  I think the Peacock earrings and necklace are so pretty.  They are a little expensive at £12 each but I like pretty things and had to have them! Lol....

And these cute rose studs were only £4 or £6. Perfect for work or going out.

Not flowers in my hair, but maybe my ear lobes....heheh

Have you been to The One New Change.... what are your thoughts? Also do you like Accessorize?  What do you think of their goodies - good value for money?

Bye for now blogger friends!

I heart shopping!

I really like a good shopping trip so yesterday my Hubby and I popped to Lakeside our local mall /shopping centre to browse the latest offerings. We had a little trip to IKEA as we’re looking to decorate our living room soon-ish. We also popped to a few shops and picked up so crazy bargains. We had Wagamama’s, an early celebration lunch/dinner of our one month anniversary on Monday. I seriously cannot believe we’ve been married a month already...utter madness. Anyway back to the haulage and bargains.

I needed to purchase a few bits and bobs from Boots. So I picked up this little lot...

Pantene Pro-V Shampoo & conditioner, Batiste Dry Shampoo in Diva, Model Own Polish in Purple Ash, No7 Eye Shadow Brush & 17 Mirror Shine lipstick in Beehive

With all this in my basket I headed to those self service tills. I scanned all my goodies and paid, then whilst waiting for my receipt out popped afterwards a voucher for £5 off my next purchases of No7 and Ruby & Millie items. Doh Doh and Doh! So the bargain shopper in me went to the No7 counter lady and pleaded with puppy dog eyes ‘I literally just bought this eye shadow brush by No7, can I refund it and buy it again with the £5 off....pleaseeeee??’ She said yes with a little grumpy face... :-) The No7 brush costs £6.50 and the voucher gives you £5 off, a makeup brush for £1.50.....who is crazy enough to let that go? Not me!

So introducing my bargain £1.50 No7 Eye Shadow Blend and Contour brush....

I’ve been wanting to get another MAC 217 brush which costs about £16, this brush is a complete dup. (Duplicate) and it’s short handled which I love. You can see in the pictures I’ve got a MAC 217 next to the No7 one....not much difference is there??

I also picked up one polish from Models Own new collection The Car Keys. The other colours didn’t wow me, but I’ve been after a nice purple for a while. So why not spoil myself! Just two coats and this looks perfect! See!

I’m currently loving nude lips right now. I love MAC’s Hue which I using at a rate of knots, so I’ve been on the cheaper alternative route. So strolling through the makeup aisles Boots 17 Mirror Shine Lipstick in Beehive called my name and asked to be bought. Lol not really, I’m not hearing voices! This was about £4.99 when MAC lipsticks are about £12. So creamy and glossy, I love this!

Finally Vaseline’s new Coca Butter Petroleum Jelly, definitely recommend you give this a sniff. It smells yummy! Vaseline is so versatile and we all need added moisturiser in the colder months. Buy buy buy I say!

This was a great haul for me, Boots always do offers like buy 3 get cheapest for free! I didn’t have to pay for Batiste Dry Shampoo, it costs £2.30 but both the Pantene’s cost £3.99....so I got it for free! I love these kinds of shopping trips.

Also picked up some winter knee boots from Next, which were £60...but because I had gift cards and returns to make, so I only had to pay £11!!! Whoop whoop!  Also picked up a top and cardigan from Primark, which was paid for by my lovely Hubby! Ahhh !!  I'm a lucky girl.

So have you picked up any goodies lately!

Magazine Offers

If you didn't know already, which I probably think you do - there are some great magazine offers this month.  Two of them are....

Marie Claire and InStyle!!!

So whats for free your wondering???

Marie Claire are offering a L'Occitane Hand Creams. I picked up the scent/flavour whatever you want to call it - Cherry Blossom. I love the Cherry Blossom line, so I was itching to get my mitts on this!

InStyle are offering two different colour Caite Paint Pots.  In all honesty I haven't a clue what the polish i picked is called.  I'm either blind or dumb, because I couldn't find a name on the bottle.  Below is a quick picture of what the polish looks like.  I applied  two coats.

To me this colour looks like the colour of dark red cherries.  A perfect autumn colour for me.  Polish was a little patchy, but I was applying in a rush.  Love the cute packaging though, so bow is so sweet :-)

So there my freebies I picked up this month.  I completely recommend both.  Have you picked any cool freebies lately??

Happy Birthday Eyeko!!!! + Giveaway

Last Saturday I had the privilege to be invited to Eyeko’s 10 Year Birthday Party.  I have to admit when I got the call at work about this, I was completely in ‘work zone/mood’ and my first thoughts were; who, what, when???  Then my brain eventually got in gear.  I said yes, as I’ve never been given the opportunity of attending a Blogger/YouTube event before.

So on a wet miserable Saturday evening i made my way to Islington’s Wentlock & Essex Bar on the Essex Road.  I admit walking into a place where I’d know no one, was kind a like the first day of school or at a new job.  When people got there you  you're given a super cute canvas goodie bag containing Eyeko products.  But before you get let in any further your asked to sign a giant canvas.  I signed 'I heart Eyeko, love Ang'.  Seemed the right thing to write :-)

The venue was super cute, just the right atmosphere for this kind of gathering.  The dance area had lighting up squares...

All in all it was a great night.  I got my nails painted in Rain polish and my Tarot cards got read.  I had a chance to talk to some of the Eyeko creators and staff. Nina, Ling, Larissa.  The worst thing about the night, i never had a Lola cupcake.  They were all eaten while I was with the Tarot lady :-)

This is the makeup/hair and nail painting area and right at the back was a lovely lady reading Tarot!

So my goodie bag wasn’t over flowing, the canvas bag is far too big to get filled to the brim.  I did get some super cool bits, their new nail polishes, mascara, liners, glosses.  Some of the bits in the bag I already owned so I thought I might as well do a give away and share the Eyeko love.   I did  intend to do my first give away when I reached 50 followers, which is a little far off.... but 30 followers isn’t too bad!!!!

The rules are; you must be a follower of my blog and you must comment to this post.  Simple as really!  Please don’t forget to post you name and email so I can contact you if you win.  Winners will be chosen at random on www.random.org. The give away will run for one month, so the winner will be announced on Thursday 11th  November at 12.30 GMT.  Any one from any country can enter, if you're living in the North Pole or on the Moon...I will ship to you :-)

So if you are lucky enough to win, what will you win?? One lucky person will win this..

T-Shirt, stickers, nail polish, 3 x glosses, 2 x pencil and 2 x graffti liners, 2 x makeup wipes

The T-Shirt is a bit small, I would have kept it for myself but since I have a boobage getting in the way I couldn't really wear it.  So as I couldn't model it for you I asked someone very special to help.  Introducing my Hubby!

You'll be winning the T-Shirt only, model not included.  Sorry!

So thats it everyone, good luck.  If you want to spread the word on your blog please do :-)  If you make a Eyeko purchase please enter my Ambassador code E10322 you'll get a free gift if you spend over a certain amount.

Speak soon blogger friends,
