TAG: 10 Random Questionnaire

I borrowed this tag from the delightful Kitty.  Her blog is called Kitbugz and I stumbled across it whilst on Hellocotton and fell in love instantly.  She's cute, so is the blog and she's on Youtube.  Check her out!

So here's the random questionnaire...

1. Wheres the strangest place you've fallen asleep?

A couple of weeks ago I fell asleep on the bathroom floor.  I was a tad drunk and was trying to make myself ill.  Disgusting I know!  I was there for about 20 minutes before the hubby put me to bed.  Bless him!

2.Who is the last person you spoke to on the phone?

The hubby, he's the only person who calls me! Lol!

3.What are your summer plans?

Since I work 9-5 the entire summer and pretty much every other season it's hard to have plans.  However I do have a LA / Vegas trip planned for April / May 2013.  Also hopefully I should be going to Malta in August to see my extended family-in-laws... cannot wait!

4. Where is your favorite place to eat on campus?

Since I don't go university / college... I'll say where my favourite place in London/UK is to eat.  It either Wagamamas or Byron Burger.  Nothing beats noodles and burgers!!!!

5.What was your first pet?

I cannot recall a first pet as throughout my life from the first time I took a gasp of air in this world... there has been animals in my life. Cats... fish... budgies... hamsters... bunny rabbits and even tadpoles!  I adore animals.  But my current fur baby is Milly...

6.What was your first halloween costume?

I'm English... and I've never really understood the thrill of dressing up as a zombie   If the wind changes you might end up staying like it...ekkk!

7.What did you have for breakfast?

Weetbix, milk, banana and blueberries.  Health freak here and I believe the first meal of the day should be a good one!

8. If you could eat one food for the rest of your life what would it be?

A Crussh CrushBerryBlast Smoothie.... they are lush.  However it's not a food so I'd pick either blueberries or mango.  I live on those.

9. If you could trade lives with one person for a day who would it be?

Hmmmm that's tough.  I'd probably say my cat Milly... sleep, eat, hunt, play, get strokes and cuddles.  What a perfect life!

10. Do you collect anything?

Makeup... lol!  Can you tell!?  Another thing I collect is fridge magnets.  I always pick up fridge magnets from where ever I travel to.  I have quite a few!

Hope you enjoyed and thanks Kitty!

TAG: Makeup Repurchases

So if you lost all your makeup, which items would you repurchase first?  I've been loving peoples tag about what they would buy again . . . so here I am with my version!

So lets start with my foundation, the Clarins Ever Matte (I’m the shade Ivory 03) has been without a doubt my best beauty purchase and I will certainly buy more.  This ticks every single box, it gives coverage without looking like I’m caked in it.  Also the shade suits my skin perfectly.  My skin in a bottle (full review here).

The next two items are something I have spoken about on numerous occasions, you’re probably bored of me talking about them.  The Maybelline One by One Volumn’ Express mascara (full review here) and The Summer Fever Trio Blusher by Rimmel London (review here) are two products I cannot live without.  The mascara makes my lashes look like I’m wearing false ones.  And the blush is a lovely colour, with its mixture of pink, shimmer and bronze - I always get compliments when I wear it.

The next two items are my favourite lipsticks; Chanel Coco Rouge Shine in Boy (review) and MAC's Lustre in Sweetie (review).  Both stunning shades, Boy is a my lips but better shade - it is truly gorgeous.  Sweetie is a plummy lustre which makes the lips look 'wow-wee' without looking too OTT.

Now for the eyeshadows.  A definite repurchase would be my Naked Urban Decay Palette.  It has every single colour you need.  You cannot go wrong by purchasing this, expensive but certainly worth the pennies!!  Also I'd buy again the Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoos.  Bad on Bronze and Tough as Taupe (review) are my favourites and most used.  I also love the MAC Paint Pots especially the nude shades - however if Maybelline bought out nude colours I swap my MAC's for them hands down.

My primer repurchase would be my Face Base from Bobbi Brown (review) I love this base.  The pot pictured is my second pot and I'm almost finished.  It just leaves my skin feeling lush and moisturised and the foundation applied over the top lasts all day.  Plus it smells beautiful.

Finally for concealor I'd pick up Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection (which I have yet to review)  for a high street / drug store concealor this is so amazing.  The consistency, longevity - absolutely amazing.  However they could do with releasing a few my shades as they only seem to have light to medium colours at the moment.

So that's everything I purchase again . . .I have also made a video version of the post if you like to view that:

Enjoy!!!!

What would you buy again??

TAG: Makeup Look for £20

There is a TAG floating around the blogging and You Tube world called the $20 Makeup Look.  I recently saw Fleur De Force’s version for the UK called the £20 Makeup Look.  Trying to buy makeup for only £20 wasn’t too bad.  Obviously you cannot buy high end products like Chanel, Dior or Estee Lauder for example, but you can buy a lot of drug store items if you shop sensibly.

In Fleur's You Tube video she included brushes in her budget.  I haven't however, as i have far too many brushes plus the TAG says £20 makeup look, the instruments to apply makeup I think don’t count.  But if you chose to join in, it is up to you if you want to included brushes or not.

So here’s what i bought and the prices and locations:

Foundation Collection 2000 Naturally Matt in Beige = £2.99 Boots
Concealer/Eye Primer MUA = £1.00 Superdrug
Mascara  Super Size Big Fat Lash in Black  = £2.99 Superdrug
Eyeshadow - Gold by Giles in Envy (available from New Look) = £3.99

Eye Liner Collection 2000 Extreme 24hour Felt Tip in Black = £2.99 Boots
Eyebrows - Rimmel London Eyebrow Pencil in Black/Brown = £2.99 Superdrug

Blusher - Natural Collections in Peach Melba = £1.99  (the only pre-owned product I used) Boots
Lipstick - this has no name but it's from Primark = £1.00

Total spend = £18.96

** - The Collection 2000 foundation and liner were purchased on offer in Boots at the time "any items worth £2.99, if you buy two you got them for £5.00".  That was the offer.

Now I suppose I could of bought a gloss with my remaining pennies but I chose to come home with some spare change. If you want to see my video of this makeup look then click below.

Will you be posting your £20/$20 makeup look?  I'd love to see it!!!

Tag: Nail Polish Addict

Found this cute tag on Gaby's Beauty Blog ...thought it was cute and I'd copy :-)  Hope you like!!

1...What's your favourite nail polish company
Collection 2000 or Barry M. I love Collection 2000's cute little bottles and range of colours and the fact they are so cheap. Barry M is a UK favourite, again...cheap, cool colour choice but for me this is great brand because the consistency of the polish and how with some colours you only need one coat...amazing!

2...Glitter or no glitter?
I love the look glitter can give, it's fun and like being a kid again.  But the one think I hate and along with every other girl on the planet is that fact you basically need white spirit and a crow bar to remove it!  It's pretty but a pain in the ......

3... OPI, China Glaze, or Essie?

In the UK you can only buy these brands in department or specialist stores.  You cannot just pop into your local Boots and find these which is a shame.  But I'd have to say Essie.

4... When do you change your nail polish?
When I'm lazy I can leave some on till it's chipping like hell.  But I basically wear a new colour every week usually.

5... What's your favourite colour on your nails?
Hmmmm how can you choose? Hmmmm I love Lady Like by Essie...but this will probably change.

6... Darks or brights?

I'm a darks and neutral girl. But I do like the odd bright orange, green or pink occasionally.

7... What are you wearing on your nails right this moment?

Sephora by OPI - I gotta blush on you... gorgeous colour!!!

 9... French manicure?

Hmmm I do like them but they can look stereotypical on some people, if you know what I mean. I do like it however when people change the colours and mismatch them like below....

18507048438220998_oriinljz_f_large

10... Favorite Winter Colour
I wear what I like whenever,  I don't think there is a set rule you have to wear darks in Autumn/Winter and brights in Spring/Summer. Where what makes you happy!!!

Hope you enjoyed!! Feel free to copy and do your own version.

Tag: Seven Deadly Beauty Sins

I do love a good tag video or blog post tag and quite a lot lately I have seen people do these posts.  I saw Bright Town Girl post and she inspired me to give it a go...so here I am! :-)
Greed

What is your most inexpensive beauty product? What is your most expensive?

It is difficult to choose something which is cheap as i use a lot of high end (MAC, Estee Lauder, Bobbi Brown...) you cannot help what you love.  But my most inexpensive would probably be my mascara.  I love love love the Maybelline One By One...makes me lashes look a.m.a.z.i.n.g!  My most expensive would be my foundation.  The Make Up For Ever, Bobbi Brown or Estee Lauder gives me lovely skin but they do have chucky price tags....

Wrath

What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with? What has been hardest to find?

I have a love hate for cleansing products and my skin can be quite sensitive and I can break out with eczema and spots easily.  It can be difficult to get the right combination of products.  The hardest to find Liz Earle you have to go (well for me) to  John Lewis or online.  As I don’t have a John Lewis near me and it can be annoying...i wish Boots stocked Liz Earle L

Glutton

What are your most delicious beauty products?

Probably my Lush items or my Macadamia oil/Aussie conditioners.  But I love sweet things like perfumes and lipglosses ...they are very delicious indeed.

Sloth
What beauty product do you neglect due to laziness?

I’m terrible when it comes to moisturising my face in the evening and morning.  I mean I use a primer most days but in the evening I do become lazy.  I get as far as removing my makeup then sleep becomes the main priority.

Pride

What beauty product gives you more confidence?

It is probably a combination of things.  Having clean hair  so a good shampoo and conditioner is a must.  A good foundation that takes away your imperfections, a lip colour, a splash of perfume to make you smell lovely.  I don’t think I could choose one thing.  I’m far too picky....

Lust

What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?

Personality is something i look at and how they treat people.  Small things can be very beautiful...the way they hold the door open for you, covering you in blanket if you fall asleep on the sofa, catching them staring at you.  Personality wise they have to make me laugh, be honest, caring, down to earth.  I hate stuck up men, bullies and men who are arrogant....ewwww hate it.
Envy

What item would you most like to receive as a gift?

I have been lusting for a Mulberry handbag and a matching purse.  To receive them would be amazing and a lovely gesture.  The hubby keeps saying he may surprise me one day.....exciting!!!!

So that’s the tag.  Hope you enjoyed.  If you fancy responding and doing your own tag then please feel free.  I’d love to take a look.

Hope you're having a good one!!!

8 Question Tag - Tagged by Tonia

As a follower of Tonia – she tagged everyone to respond to her Friday 2nd July - 8 questions tag. So here I go.

1. How do you imagine yourself in 10 years?
Well in 10 years time I’ll be 36, wowzer. I’ll be married (as I’m getting married September 18th this year); I’ll hopefully have a mini Jollybeach. I’ll probably be doing the same things I am now, as I’m pretty settled in life already. But I’ll always make time for some blogging.

2. Is there something you regret doing/not doing?
I regret not knowing what I wanted to do in life from an early age. I’d love to be a makeup artist/beauty therapist. But when you’re 15 – 16 and just leaving school, do you really know what you want to do for the rest of your life?? I know I didn’t. I just went where ever my life took me. I don’t have any massive regrets though.
3. If there were one thing you could change about yourself, what would it be? And why?
I’d love love love to be taller. I’m only 5 ¾ (I always say I’m 5’1.) I hate being so small. I can never reach anything on the top shelf; I have to stand on a chair. Jeans and trousers are sometimes a nightmare to get, due to leg lengths. I feel like I have a 5’8 body and frame squeezed in a 5’1 person.  It's frustrating!!

4. What is your favourite childhood memory?
Hmmmm, let’s think. My childhood seems so far away now but I thing always sticks out is me, my brother and my Mum waiting for dad to finish his night shifts. My mum would have to pick him up at about 12 at night, but my brother and I were too young to be left at home. So we’d be in our pj’s in the back of the car playing eye spy whilst waiting for my dad. I can remember that like it happened yesterday and I think I must have been about 8 years old.

5. If you could have one super power, what would it be?
Definitely flying, I always as a kid used to dream I could fly. I’d just go and explore any where I could find. I don’t think I’d like to be a mind reader or have x-ray vision. They seem too personal.

6. If you could have only one make up item, what would it be?
I hate this question; there are so many things I could choose. But I’m going to pick ....hmmm. Either bronzer or mascara. You can do a lot with a bronzer, contour, bronze, blush, eye shadow. It is a very useful makeup item. But mascara is probably my final choice. It just makes your eyes look lovely, and if you have clean beautiful skin in the first place, you will not really need any face product. Mascara it is!!!!

7. What's the best thing about being a beauty blogger?
I like being a beauty blogger so I can share my knowledge of things I have tried and tested. Also you get to meet new friends and you can learn from their own experiences...which I think is a good thing.

8. What's your best make up tip?
Don’t overdo it. A little here a little there, as they say less is more. Remember to try and embrace what you have instead of covering it up. You only live once so try and love yourself for who you are.

That’s it everyone. I tag everyone who is a follower!!!! And even the people who are not :- (

Five Random Facts

While I wasn’t actually tagged by anyone to do this tag *sniffs and eyes begin to well up*, I took it upon myself to write down five random facts about the one and only me!!!

So here goes.... Number....

1. I like the smell of coffee, but I don’t like to drink it. I could quite happily sit all day in a Starbucks, Nero or Costa just taking deep sniffs of everyone’s coffee mugs. But weirdly I hate to drink it. Taking the smallest sip makes me gag, to the point where the people I’m with laugh their heads off. I also love the smell of brand new carpet. I have been known to get on my hands and knees and sniff the floor..... call the men and women in white jackets people!!!!!!

2. I don’t understand tweeter. Am I the only person in the world who doesn’t get it??? I’ve looked at it but I just don’t see the point. Do you??? Surely Blogging is enough?

3. I have a posh little finger. Imagine sipping tea from a posh cup and saucer and sticking your little finger!!! Yes I do that, haven’t got a clue why I do that, but it naturally sticks out. Maybe I was a posh person in a previous life, I have no idea. I also stick my little fingers out when I type. Maybe I am a younger version of Hyacinth Bouquet (Google “Keeping up Appearances”, if you want to know who Mrs Bucket is)

4. I’m in love with Vampires. I cannot get enough of them! Eric, Edward, Stefan.....you guys can bite me anytime. I don’t know what I’d be reading if I didn’t have the True Blood books by Charlaine Harris. I’ve already read the Twilight books like everyone else in the world. And I’m waiting for the release of the 10th TB book, until then I’m bookless. I’m thinking of the Vampire Diaries next....do you have any recommendations for Vampy books????

5. Writing lists, I am known for this little trait. My purse/handbag is always overflowing with post-its and little reminders and lists. I’ve probably used a whole tree in post-its for my little obsession.

One for luck,

6. I almost died a few years ago in a white water rafting accident in Thailand. Wild rapids and an inexperienced non-English speaking Thai guy taking 6 tourist down a crazy river has dangerous written all over it. We hit a big boulder and our boat flipped throwing everyone into the river and boat landing on top of us. I didn’t have a clue which way was up or down. If it wasn’t for my BF grabbing me by my life jacket I don’t want to think what could have been. We were then left stranded on rocks. Luckily 2 American guys in the boat after us saved the day!!! They picked us up for our rock in the middle of the river. They got us back to safety. I’ve never thanked someone so much as I did them two guys. I salute you!!!

If you have any 5 random facts leave comments below.
