My Recent Poundland Haul

Poundland is a really great place to pop into for a bargain. I'm in there most weeks as my local store is close by to where Grace and I attend some baby classes. Last night I popped in there to grab a few bits and I thought I'd share. I said to myself a £10 budget which I kept to - I just didn't include the two packs of mini eggs I bought in the picture hehe.

If you have a little one I certainly recommend popping in and picking up some books. For the price you might think the would be cheap looking but there are some really good quality ones in there. Graces loves Peppa Pig, so obviously we had to get two of those story books. I also noticed Rory's Story which talks about Rory the Tiger getting a sister. I thought this was a good story to read to Grace if we're blessed with baby number two. 

We're currently in the baby weaning stage and even though we're making most meals from scratch I still like to have a jar or pouch in the house as a back up. My Poundland do not have a huge range of foods for babies, but they have a few jars and opted to get Heinz Creamy Oat Porridge.

If you're into crafts and especially crafts for the kids and don't want to spend lots, then Poundland is the place for you. I got a pack of 16 jumbo wax crayons so we could start colouring - I'm not expecting much colouring but its something to do. I also bought some plastic Easter egg containers. I was thinking of using them for a Easter DIY project - watch this space!!

Now it would not be right if I popped into Poundland and didn't pick up two bits for myself or the house should I say. Firstly the anti-bacterial wipes for the floor - a life saver to keep my living room floor looking clean and polished. I cover up the floor whilst Grace is eating - not like she's eating that much however we still manage to get something on the floor. Doh. Also she is now on the move, so it's great that these wipes are anti-bacterial and kills germs on the floor that might get walked in on shoes.

Lastly the one thing for me (apart from the mini eggs) ... this cute mason jar cup/mug. I picked this up as I was inspired by Emily Norris' use of her one from her recent Poundland haul video. She uses hers for pens and makeup brushes. I'm going to pop some flowers in to mine as I think it will look rather sweet on my mantel place in the living room.

I can always buy more in Poundland and I had to hold myself back or I would of gone a little cray cray! Do you have any favourites bits and bobs you like to get from your local store? Inspire me for my next trip :-)

A Few 2018 Goals

Ooh, so yes January has already flown by and in theory I should of probably had this post done and dusted, but hey I'm going to use the excuse of 'I have a BABY, they don't look after themselves you know!' So here we are February, nice to see you. I have penned down a few goals I'm going to attempt to achieve this year. I could probably write a million things down but it's already a long one.... soooo grab a brew or a wine - which ever takes your fancy. First Up.

The House
I have itchy fingers when it comes to doing things around the house. I want to decorate parts of it, but money doesn't grow on trees. We've lived in our house for nine years this November and we still have the hand-me-down carpet from the previous owner. It's tired just like me and needs a refresh. I'm slowing doing a decluttering sweep again as I feel like we've accumulated quite a few bits and bobs. I'm not sure I'll ever be happy with everything but I'm trying my hardest. Since having a small human I feel like I've been working overtime attempting to get sh*t done. It's driven me to tears on occasion which sounds really stupid, but I just want it to be perfect. You know what I mean?

In 2017 I didn't do much in the garden due to my pregnancy. I want to make it a little more child friendly for when the little lady starts to move about. I also want some space for a little Graces Garden Area. That little girl is going to love the outdoors and plants and animals whether she likes it or not. I want her to know how to care for things, no matter how small.

My Body Image and Confidence
Well this subject I could write an entire post. I'm not really happy with myself right now body wise. When I was with child I felt wonderful and showed my bump off in tight clothes. I loved it. I did say to myself and my hubby that once baby arrived, I weren't going to become obsessed with my weight and how I looked especially in the first few weeks. There enough pressures for new mums let alone 'can I fit in to my skinny 12s again?' Let's be realistic people I'm no superstar with a private chef and a built-in gym at home. Well roll on nearly five months later and I'm feeling a bit meh about me. I've had a baby and I feel frumpy. I have about one stone to lose (and the rest...) and no clothes seem to bring me joy. Muffin tops and back fat can seriously do one please I beg you. The only problem is I'm a stay at home mum who has a serious issue with comfort eating. I used to be so strong when it came to what I ate. I was the person people spoke to when they needed help with weight lose and now I'm that person who needs help and no one is about. Ahhh help me. I need to really sort my life out especially if I want bubba number two at some stage. I refuse to be fat for that! Angela get off your arse! Nope still sitting down watching Homes Under The Hammer.... argh!

Better Online Life
I sometimes wonder if blogging is for me anymore, however as soon I as I think those thoughts I think KEEP GOING ANGELA! I've been blogging for years - since 2010 believe it or not, but I feel like I have never really gotten anywhere far with it. There are so many worthy people out there I just think I'm not meant to be one of those. Yes I've worked with some great brands and products, but I think where I'm not consistent with my approach due to time and my job etc, things usually fall flat. This year I have a few thoughts on my mind. Do I start to make YouTube videos again? Do I get my own domain? I currently don't have a income as I'm on maternity leave plus I don't have a job to return to. With this in mind I don't want to be dish my money out here there and everywhere if I won't get much in return. Does that make ANY sense? I've started to get into Instagram more (chattingwithangela is my name - check it out). I had to google how to make an Insta story - lame or what? Not really down with the kids am I? I really want to get my blogging head on and perhaps try to get an income from there. There is still time very to make a change!

To Be More Hands On
I want to get crafty and hands on this year, especially when it comes to Grace. I want to hand make sensory toys for her - I have some projects in mind and I will share them here for other mums and carers to see. I am in the middle of making my little love her own patch work play mat. I've not had much time on my hands in the evenings, because I'm normally knackered once she goes to bed. However when she's been napping I'm busy prepping scrap fabric squares. I might share the process on the blog so watch this space.

My Family and Marriage
When you have a baby your relationship takes a ride on the back burner for a while. Sleepless nights and a sea of nappies become your life. On occasions I basically have felt like I've not even seen my hubby. He goes to work, I look after the baby then he comes in the door and I pass out due to exhaustion. Welcome to parenthood. I'd like to have a date night now and again with him to remind us of the times before we became a threesome - child free time. This is good for family looking after the baby as they get time to bound and we have break and us time. Yes I totally love us being a family...the three of us but it never hurts to have wifey and hubby time - to reconnect.

When the UK decides to warm up in spring summer, I also want us to go and explore. Grace is developing constantly and is like a sponge and taking in everything. She's such nosey inquisitive little girl and I think a trip to the zoo or the seaside will do her wanders. Sand castles anyone?

and finally...

Have More ME Time.
My name used to be Angela, but now I'm Mummy. I don't really have time to myself anymore and I love alone time to reflect on life. Sometimes I have a moment or two, but usually it is swiftly followed by someone needing a bum change or the washing machine needs unloading. Since I've become a Mum I haven't even had a Lush bath. I have a big stash of bombs and not had a chance to use them. On occasion I even have to try and remember when I last had a shower. That is how bad it gets sometimes. You kind of stop looking after yourself, because you're no longer number one. It's been over six months since I even had a hair cut. I think the me time goes hand in hand to my image and how I feel about myself. I've kind of got lost somewhere in the back ground. Angela needs to step forward, back into the light. When she is ready obviously.

I think when we get to December I might review these points to see if I actually ticked off any off these. How well will I do I wonder?

Primark Private Collection

Ladies and gents! If you love Jo Malone, well then keep reading. Behold Primark, yes Primark have got some rather nice home and beauty items which have hit the shelves. If you like Jo Malone and just don't have the funds to splash out on some bits and bobs from there, then these offerings from Primark might tick all the boxes for you and your purse strings.

Primark have launched a whole range of goodies from hand lotions and creams, hand washes, reed diffusers, eau de perfume mini sets and individual larger bottles of perfume and room sprays. They haven't held back when it comes to scents too. Six fragrances are up for grabs, so there should be at least one that will take your fancy.

The scents are Rose Oud, Mandarin and Basil, Amber Nior, Vanilla Absolute, Jasmine and Honey and Pomegranate and Black Tea.

I purchased two reed diffusers at £6 each and miniature set of six eau de perfumes for £8. What I like about the miniatures is the scent really lingers on your skin. It doesn't just disappear as fast as you apply to the skin. You can smell it for a good while afterwards. My favourite is the Rose Oud and the Pomegranate and Black Tea. All the scents are strong and do not smell cheap. If you could do a blind sniff test between these and Jo Malone, I think you'd find it difficult to tell the difference. I do like the roller ball applicator as opposed to sprays as you can pin point exactly where you'd like the scent to go! No wastage.

Most items start from £3. Nothing in the collection is over £10. I bet you'll be popping multiple items into your basket like I did. You can also buy the fragrances individually in larger 100 ml bottles for only £8 in case you do not fancy the miniature set like I got above.

Nip down to your local Primark quick sharp, as I can see these being really popular. Is there anything you fancy from the collection??

My Muji And Liz Earle Eye Combo

Do you ever buy something and then think to yourself "why the hell did I buy that??"

Totally. All the time.

A few years ago I picked up these eye patches from Muji. I LOVE Muji, I have bits and bobs from their store everywhere in my house. Acrylic drawers for my makeup, tall storage units with wheels in my bathroom and under the stairs and their little vanity unit containers in my bed side drawer. And to top it off I LOVE their gel pens too. I'm a sucker for a good old pen. What is awesome about Muji is the prices. You're buying top quality items for a really good price that won't make you shudder at the tills when you hand over your debit card. I urge you to check them out if you haven't done so already - they have a lot of stuff and some may float your boat.

Anyway, lets get back to the eye patches.

I thought they'd be kind of cool to use at home to keep me looking younger and youthful and at only £1.50 for 20 patches I weren't going to be breaking the bank. However roll on a few years, I never got round of using them and they sat in my beside drawer gathering dust. I was decluttering one day and thought it was time to say good bye. Then it hit me, a lightening bulb moment and I saw my Liz Earle Eye Bright Soothing Eye Lotion in the drawer. Ta-dah! I now had a use for my patches.

I take two patches and soak them in the solution and pop them under my eyes for 5 to 10 minutes. Hey presto refreshed under eyes here I come. Unlike conventional cotton wool pads, the patches are really thin and absorbent - they almost resemble a second layer of skin. You can lay back with these on and chill or you can do the washing up as they stay stuck to your under eyes. Whereas cotton wool patches would fall off if you stood up.

Don't I look glam? Fingers crossed these will give me my youthful looks back!

Christmas With UncommonGoods

Christmas this year is certainly going to be a different Christmas to all the others in my life time. I now have a feisty baby to watch over for the next 20 years and with the festive season lurking around the corner I am kind of not looking forward to it! The reason being, I often find Christmas shopping quite stressful when it comes to buying gifts - I always find people like my Dad for instance frustrating to buy for. Men are just difficult aren't they?

Going to the shops Christmas shopping with a two month old is pretty much a no go and I will do much of it all online. So what better timing than to collaborate with UncommonGoods for this post.

Our family are quite big fan of opening stockings on Christmas Eve. Lots of little presents, some of the fun and silly and some of them actually useful. Every year I always find it difficult buying for my secret Santa at work. Kitchen Gadgets to Have!

Hi there Slimming World friends how we all doing today?  Sorry for post shortage but with this warm weather I kind of feel like eating ice creams more than writing blog posts.  You understand where I'm coming from right?

This post talks about some of my favourite gadgets in the kitchen.  It might sound strange to say but I do love my NutriBullet and steamer - it's true.  Links for each item will be there for you if you fancy buying any of the products mentioned.  Now let's crack on...

// Scales 

I used to have big fancy scales, you know the kind with the big bowl on top??  Yes they may look nice and cute but they are not the most practical in the world. They are big and not very handy for a quick grab and weigh of your healthy extra A choice.  This is where I invested in a set of digital scales from Salter. I picked up my set from DunElm Mill for about £12 or £14. They are little which is great for storage, plus you have many options when it comes to weighing - grams, oz, mls.

// Joseph Joseph Bowl/Measuring cup set

Cup measurements are mainly a US thing but they have become much more popular in the UK over recent years.  Our friends in the US don't use the terms grams likes us Brits. I find having a set of these really handy. Mine show millilitres too so I always use the 1 cup spoon for 250mls of semi skimmed milk.

The other day I was measuring out some low fat Mayo for a wrap I was making. I guessed what a tablespoon of it was by squeezing the tube and popping it straight on to the wrap. After i did that I thought to myself I should really measure that. So I grabbed my measuring spoon and to my shock I was totally wrong - I'd given myself about half the amount.  After this little story my point is, it is always important to measure out all your syns.

You totally don't have to have this as it's not an necessity, but if you ever feel like making a cauliflower base pizza ... well you'll be a fool not to have this to help you make it.  It helps to use the cloth to squeeze out excess fluid 😄

// NutriBullet Blender

I've had some gadgets that just don't get used after a while and I was kind of worried it would be the same when I bought this however I was wrong.  I get so much use out of blender and it's always out on my counter top. It's the perfect size and it's not even that expensive. This will make the whole soups, smoothies making process easy peasy.

// Tupperware 

Is it sad to say that having good Tupperware is important. Investing a bit more cash is certainly better than not. I use my pots every day and they go through a lot. If you've got something cheap and not so durable then you are more likely to have to spend more money in the long run replacing them. My favourite brand is Sistema. They sell lots of different sizes and in different colours. They also sell bottles and other handy items.

Life Lately #04.15

Two posts in one day? Oh yes...that's right!  What an excellent way to finish off the month of April blog posts than none other than my life late post.  Here’s a little round up for the month of April.

Sewing Classes

On April 17^th I attended a evening sewing class at Sew Over It.  It was a three hour class teaching the basics of loading a bobbing and threading your machine. Plus you got to make a envelope cushion (see top left picture) with a choice of fabrics which covered the studio walls – heaven!!  The classes are small (there was 8 ladies) and we were all eager beavers to learn which was nice.  I have to say I was so proud of myself after I finished my cushion, as it felt like a real achievement that I’d made something with my own bare hands.  I'm attending two more follow up classes in the beginning of May where I will make and create a tote bag plus a makeup bag with a zip!!  I can't wait.

Reading

I feel like it has been ages since I read a book.  I've been reading sewing books quite a lot but I haven't read any fiction in a while.  Sometimes it’s the pain in the backside of having to lug around a beast of book around with you - that puts me off.  Yes I could buy a Kindle or read off an iPad – but to me real reading should use an actual book.  Will books die out like CD’s?  I just picked up Paula Hawkins The Girl on The Train which I need to start getting down and dirty with.  I've heard this is meant to be a great thriller and it's apparently going to be made in to a movie.  

Water

Lately I have really attempted to up my water intake as I can lack in it sometimes.  I'm not a tea or coffee drinker so I literally only drink water.  I'm trying to carry a bottle around with me where ever I go and it seems to help.

Getting Fit – Again

After jumping up 8lbs in what feels like over night I am well truly sorting myself out.  I'm only 5’1 so as you can imagine 8lbs on a small petite frame sticks out like a sore thumb.  I'm getting to grips with eating clean plus ditching sugar (oh boy the headaches), I'm also getting out walking now we have sunshine until about 8pm.  I've been using my Fit Bit One to track my steps and the miles I'm walking as I think it helps to see it be recorded.  I just need to dust my fitness DVDs off.

Fuzzy Brain

I'm not sure if it’s where I'm cutting calories but I keep getting a fuzzy head where I feel off balance.  I can often feel that way with my anxiety but I feel fine currently so I’m not sure why I feel odd in the head.  If it persists I’ll have to get a blood test or something to have a closer look but hopefully fingers crossed it will disappear on its own.

Getting Crafty #Crochet

I love to be creative and make things.  I think there is nothing more satisfying than building something with your bare hands....  Be it cakes,  a crochet snood or doing a DIY on some old jars with glitter. More on the latter later on.  In the above picture I was  making a snood for my mum.  It looks a jumbled mess but trust me the end result was lovely. 

I have gradually built up  collection of yarns, hooks and books.  These are some of favourite books and they are great,  but I personally think YouTube is the best place to see crochet at work.  There is only so much a book can show. 

When it comes to crochet I love that I can make something useful.  I can see it and it doesn't take forever to see a result.   I find it spurs me on to work faster.   The snood I'm wearing below is something I knocked up in two days. 

I made it with the help of Simply Hooked YouTubes channel (link HERE) and the cowl snood video is HERE.   Anyone can make this as her instructions are clear and easy for a complete novice to understand.  I did it... so you can.  You just need a ball or yarn,  a large hook and YouTube!!  The snood I'm wearing and my mum's one are the same stitch. Once you get a stitch in your head,  you just want to keep doing it over and over to perfect it!! 

I think my next project will a a granny square blanket of some sort.   Fun times a head.

December favourites

I thought I'd see out 2014 with my December favourites.  I've got a good old mixture here for ya, some beauty bits and bobs, a smelly candle (slightly addicted to those I admit), a new hand bag plus shoes.

Uggs Boots  (Style/Shade - Azalea/Chestnut) | LINK

I'm not sure these can be classed as a December favourite since I've only had them since Christmas Day.  I have to thank the hubby for these... he did good.  His choice of style, colour...I was not expecting these at all... they weren't even on a want list of mine.  I've worn them every time I have left the house since the 25th.  They are so comfortable and keep your feet toasty warm.  It's love I tell you.

Rebecca Minkoff - MAC Bag | LINK

This was a bonus spending spree plus a 31st birthday treat to myself.  It had been in the back of my mind to buy this bag for months, perhaps even a whole year.  I opted for the MAC version as opposed to the famous Mini MAC.  I think this will be one of those bags which will last a life time.  I picked black as it is more wearable and timeless.  

Heart and Home Candle - Baked Apple  | LINK

Firstly OMG!!!  If you love that smell of freshly baked apple pie (American Pie anyone?!?) then you'll want to get your hands on this.  Pop the lid off and this smells amazing, but light it.... man your house will smell like you've got pots of apples and cinnamon cooking on the stove.  It is truly yummy.

Crocheting

My inner granny has emerged and I have been a proper little crocheter.  I'm no knitting crocheting genius yet but currently I have made three snoods so far.  I'm now attempting a gigantic blanket for the sofa.  It might have bitten off more than I can chew and it may take me a year to make it but I thought I'd give it a whirl.  Watch this space.

Bourjois Happy Light Foundation | LINK

If I'd written a favourites post for every other month of this year, this would of been included every time.  It's been a favourite for months now, so much so I'm almost hitting the bottom of the bottle.  It's strange considering I used to hate this initially.  I've never tried any Bourjois foundations before now, but I'm very pleased with this.  It's light and gives you a glow.  However it is build-able which I like.  I've certainly pick this up again soon.

Laura Mercier - Secret Brightening Powder | LINK

I haven't used this for a while until recently.  I'd forgotten how good this powder is at getting my under eye makeup to last all day.  It contains a micro shimmer which reflects the light and brightens the whole area.  I love to use this with my Real Techniques Setting Brush... It's the perfect size.  This little pot lasts for ever too so it's worth the investment.

Lancôme Ombre Hynose Eyeshadow - Erika | LINK

I picked this up at the end of November to wear for the work Christmas party and it so sparkly.  It's not that annoying fall out glitter sparkly but a smooth creamy metal grey shimmery beauty.  Yes it is a little expensive but still gorgeous  So it is justified right???

DIY Christmas Decor

I was a little slow to upload this post on here before Christmas actually occurred... it almost seems a little pointless to share it now.  There is always inspiration for next year huh?!

Now you would of seen this before Christmas on my YouTube channel, as I did make a small video showing how I 'made' this festive window decoration.

I use the word 'made' loosely as I didn't really make anything... I merely measured some cotton thread and tied a knot.  It is in my nature to be crafty and build things but it doesn't mean you have to go nuts and spend lots of cash to make your dreams become a reality.

For this project I simply used scissors, white cotton thread, a tape measure (you could do it all by eye if you're clever) and some pretty decorations.  You could use fancy baubles if you wish instead of the hanging snow flake option I went with.  Also a small side note... you could hang it anywhere, it doesn't have to be just a window decoration.  Obviously keep it out of reach from any little people, as string and babies are not a good combo.

Home Sense Haul

I do love me a bit of Home Sense shopping... I love it as you just never know what kind of goodies they will have lurking around on the shelves.  I have to say I think it is one of my favourite stores... I might even love it more than Boots and Superdrug combined. Boy I have changed.

Flowers Make Me Happy

Sometimes life can be very rush rush and we don't have time to sit back and enjoy things.  Half the time I personally feel like I'm out of the house either travelling to and from work, working or at the gym.  I am tempted to retire at the age of thirty, so I can actually enjoy life a little more.

The one thing that instantly makes me feel happy when I am at home are fresh flowers.  I think they bring such a happy energy in to the home.  Do I sound crazy...?

I know for some people having fresh flowers is seen as extravagant.  Flowers can be quite expensive depending on what you buy and where you buy them.  I usually buy my purchases at the supermarket or even markets...If you're buying from Selfridges or Harrods you could probably understand the expensive.

I have even bought roses from Aldi... a small bunch for £3 and they lasted over a week.  Not bad really when you think about it.  You just have to shop in the right places.

I do not buy flowers all the time, I usually start to buy them in the spring time when the Daffodils start arriving - they are one of my favourites.

Peonies are also a favourite buy unfortunately for me they never last that long.  So love them as long as you can.  Plus there are roses too which are just beautiful.

I love this idea of just one flower head in a vase or bottle...if you are lucky enough to have a garden you could pick one flower and make an instance change to your home.

A Little Tiger Haul

I love Tiger, I always seem to exit that store with something.  It can't be helped... honest!

Tiger is one of my favourite places for little cute nick-nacks or inspirations to get creative... You can buy items such as yarns, crouchet hooks, glue guns, glitter, paint and art canvases.  Also home goods like mixing bowls, spoons, umbrellas for your cocktails, spices for cooking, candles...oven gloves!

Trust me when I say... if you enter a Tiger store - I very much doubt you will leave empty handed.

So what did I buy on my recent trip?

Oven gloves.  A self explanatory item which I don't think you need me to go into much detail about. But I will say they were very cute and the colour caught my beady eye. Expensive? Nope £3.99...oh yay... You know I love a bargain.

Next...

A knitted owl Iphone cover.  This little creature needed a new home I mean look at him???  He will be giving my new camera some loving.  Annoyingly some new cameras don't come with cases and I refuse to pay mega bucks, so this cutie will do just fine.  £3.99 again and he will do just nicely keeping clean, protecting my camera from dents and sctaches.  

And finally hanging storage for my bathroom.  I have been looking for something like this for years and finally I find what I need.  It pays to hold out for the perfect item. We have limited storage in our shower area so this will be a life saver.  Again not expensive... £3.99. I know it my sound sad but I cannot wait to hang this up!!! The basket can store shampoos etc and we can hang our sponges on the hooks.  I'm so excited.  Yes yes - sad I know.

Reorganising The Kitchen Drawers

Clutter drives me a bit potty, when I see it around the house it just makes me turn green and steam will start coming out of my ears.

When we were finally allowed to move our things back in to our kitchen there was one draw which became the utensil dumping ground.

See...

This weekend I popped out to TK Maxx and Home Sense as I knew they would hold the key for a happier and less messy kitchen draw.

Say hello to the saviours.   

These inexpensive clear plastic containers were exactly what I was looking for.  They have little rubber feet to stop them moving around when you open and close the draw.

They are easy to clean which is great, plus they had a few different sizes so I could mix and match to get the desired organisation I wanted.  It couldn't of gone any better, it's exactly how I envisioned it.

Clutter free!

I totally recommend TK Maxx and Home Sense if you are looking for unique storage ideas. They are my two favourite stores. This all in all cost just under £11 to make this draw less stressful and more useful. You can also use these containers in numerous other ways. Perhaps to organise your makeup collection?

Baby it's cold outside

So what better way to get rid of your chills that are multiplying... so cheesy haha!  Anyway burn a candle that'll soon warm you up and make your home smell gorgeous!  On a serious note... how cold is it?  It's like we have skipped autumn and gone straight into winter. Brrrrrrrr!

Red Velvet and Christmas Cookie

I've been loving burning my Yankee Candles.  Christmas Cookie was bought for me last year by my brother.  He bought it for me as a Christmas present.  I only got to burn for a short while, then I put it away for the year *sad face*  It smells sickly yummy.  You can almost smell the calories.

Red Velvet is a recent purchase and smells like... Red Velvet cake.  More calories!!  I had both of these burning recently whilst I was baking and the smell was amazing.  The real baking smell plus the candles... to die for.

Lush, Boots, Home Sense, Duty Free Haul

Burn baby burn......

Now it is officially Autumn it has been time for me to dust off the candles and start burning them hardcore.  I love candles.....FACT!!!

In the bathroom when I'm relaxing in the bath.  In the living room when I'm snuggled on the sofa watching the TV.  On the dinning room table when we're having dinner.  In the bedroom to make it feel lovely and calming before bed.

Now I don't really just burn my candles in the winter months, I do it all year round....candle burning is part of the normal day for me, I do it all the time.  I especially love candles which have a gorgeous scent.  They fill the air in the room with their yummy fragrances.  I completely recommend Yankee Candles, they do lots of different sizes and scents and they can burn for a really long time.

There's another brand of candles I'm really loving which is Lily Flame.  My current favourite is Daisy Dip.

If you know what Calvin Klein's perfume Eternity smells like, then you'll know what this smells like!  I could quite happily stick my nose in this pot and sniff away....it's delicious.  The above picture is a new candle I bought as I was getting to the end of the candle I'm currently burning

On the Lily Flame website they describe this 'with a hint of grass, flowers, honeysuckle and violets'.  I describe this as CK Eternity.  My way is easier :-D *smiley face*

Prices range differently depending where you see them.  I know some John Lewis stores stock these.  They sell them at a more expensive price than I have ever purchased them (only by about a £1, but its still more money).  I pick mine up at my local garden centre,  they have a kind of 'shabby chic' section.

L'Occitane Hand Cream in Cherry Blossom
I love this and what it does to my hands.  It smells wonderful and it works wonders.  I got this in a magazine offer last year (which I blogged about here).  This is a must have handbag item for me.  I'm always applying this throughtout the day.

Santa Rose, Ashes to Ashes and Bisque

I don't know where my life would be without this.  I'd never used a corrector before, this time last year I'd never really even heard of it.  I first purchased this with my Bobbi Brown weddings hauls last August and I have to say I'm so glad we were introduced to one another.  Bisque is the perfect under eye combater and we're united for life!!!!


NARS Eyeshadow in Ashes to Ashes
I've pratically been wearing this colour all month, just all over the lid nothing fancy.  It's a great colour thats creates kind of a smokey-ish look.  It's a odd colour; kind of a taupey, grey, mauve.  If you've seen MAC's Shale, this is the closests you get.  But NARS is more expensive, but suits me better than Shale.  Shale makes me look tired.

Rimmel Blusher in Santa Rose

I bought this last summer in the heat of the moment  as I'd left the house without blusher.  I literally went in my local pharmacy near my work and picked out the cheapest and prettiest blusher.  I'm sure glad that this was the prettiest and cheapest....because it is really nice.  A beautiful peachy pink colour which gives you a pretty glow.  Suits my pale skin perfectly.  When I hit pan I'll definiately be getting another one of these!!

Estee Lauder Sumptuous Mascara
I purchased this last month and this is a great mascara, Two coats of this really does do what this says on the tube. Volumising, bold, lifting and sumptuous results everytime. It's a little pricey butyou've got a try it in my books. Plus it starts on all day!!!


Miss Sporty Be Connected Lipgloss in Red Digit
I really have been loving the whole red lipped fashion thats been going round currently.  I do like red lipsticks, but I'm chicken when it comes to wearing them outside the front door.  Also I get a little concious that I have full-ish lips, especially the bottom lip.  So instead of a lipstick I picked up this high pigmanted gloss from Miss Sporty. Depending on how much you apply this can be as red as you want.  And for £2.99 how'd be mad enough to over look this?? 

Red is definiately in!!!!

And I have two things that are not beauty related in the cosmetic sense, but more the wax and floral sense....

Yankee Candle in Cherry Blossom
I've been really getting into my candles lately and I'm loving the Yankee range.  This candles scent is to die for, I absolutely love this. I’m crazy for scented candles, I find them very relaxing and calming. And a bit romantic ;-) I literally have a candle in every room of the house. I got this one way before Christmas and still tonnes of burning left to go. 

Daffodils
I love this time of year and the first signs of spring.  And daffodils are the biggest sign that spring is coming and I love these happy flowers.... ahhh :-) *happy sigh*
