Seventeen Doll'd Up 3-Way Liquid Eyeliner

If you have not noticed already (where have you been hiding) the lovely beauty brand 17 have had a revamp.  No longer ‘17’, they have upgraded themselves from numbers to letters and become 'Seventeen’.  I think the change is nice, it feels more grown up and it is not a total change  - as opposed to Collection/Collection 2000 (they’ll always be Collection 2000 in my eyes)

Anyways, Seventeen have launched a fab new liner called Doll'd Up 3-Way Liner, which when I saw it initially made me giddy with excitement.  With a resemblance to the Clarins version, Seventeen have blessed us with a cheaper alternative which looks just as promising.

In a sleek like pen applicator, this can be used a number of ways. You can still achieve the usual black 'cat eyeliner' look using this, but with the three little nibs you can also delicately apply to the lower lash line.

Doing this adds definition to the bottom lashes for a subtle look.  If you were never really a fan of the harsh black liner (Middleton style) then this could be what you are looking for.

What I really like is the formulation   It is wet, but not too wet it takes forever to dry.  It applies smoothly with no tugging or pulling and the pen itself is soft as a feather.  As for the colour, it is the blackest black.

And all this from the high street at £6.29???  Yes!

The liner on the lower lash line

The lasting powder is very good.  However towards the end of the day (after applying at about 8am) this does start to smudge.  But that's no biggy for me as I have oily skin so I expect a little movement south.

So is it worth the hype you ask?  Well yes it is.  It is certainly is worth looking at.  It's cheap and great... what's not to like?  Clarins who..?

I heart shopping!

I really like a good shopping trip so yesterday my Hubby and I popped to Lakeside our local mall /shopping centre to browse the latest offerings. We had a little trip to IKEA as we’re looking to decorate our living room soon-ish. We also popped to a few shops and picked up so crazy bargains. We had Wagamama’s, an early celebration lunch/dinner of our one month anniversary on Monday. I seriously cannot believe we’ve been married a month already...utter madness. Anyway back to the haulage and bargains.

I needed to purchase a few bits and bobs from Boots. So I picked up this little lot...

Pantene Pro-V Shampoo & conditioner, Batiste Dry Shampoo in Diva, Model Own Polish in Purple Ash, No7 Eye Shadow Brush & 17 Mirror Shine lipstick in Beehive

With all this in my basket I headed to those self service tills. I scanned all my goodies and paid, then whilst waiting for my receipt out popped afterwards a voucher for £5 off my next purchases of No7 and Ruby & Millie items. Doh Doh and Doh! So the bargain shopper in me went to the No7 counter lady and pleaded with puppy dog eyes ‘I literally just bought this eye shadow brush by No7, can I refund it and buy it again with the £5 off....pleaseeeee??’ She said yes with a little grumpy face... :-) The No7 brush costs £6.50 and the voucher gives you £5 off, a makeup brush for £1.50.....who is crazy enough to let that go? Not me!

So introducing my bargain £1.50 No7 Eye Shadow Blend and Contour brush....

I’ve been wanting to get another MAC 217 brush which costs about £16, this brush is a complete dup. (Duplicate) and it’s short handled which I love. You can see in the pictures I’ve got a MAC 217 next to the No7 one....not much difference is there??

I also picked up one polish from Models Own new collection The Car Keys. The other colours didn’t wow me, but I’ve been after a nice purple for a while. So why not spoil myself! Just two coats and this looks perfect! See!

I’m currently loving nude lips right now. I love MAC’s Hue which I using at a rate of knots, so I’ve been on the cheaper alternative route. So strolling through the makeup aisles Boots 17 Mirror Shine Lipstick in Beehive called my name and asked to be bought. Lol not really, I’m not hearing voices! This was about £4.99 when MAC lipsticks are about £12. So creamy and glossy, I love this!

Finally Vaseline’s new Coca Butter Petroleum Jelly, definitely recommend you give this a sniff. It smells yummy! Vaseline is so versatile and we all need added moisturiser in the colder months. Buy buy buy I say!

This was a great haul for me, Boots always do offers like buy 3 get cheapest for free! I didn’t have to pay for Batiste Dry Shampoo, it costs £2.30 but both the Pantene’s cost £3.99....so I got it for free! I love these kinds of shopping trips.

Also picked up some winter knee boots from Next, which were £60...but because I had gift cards and returns to make, so I only had to pay £11!!! Whoop whoop!  Also picked up a top and cardigan from Primark, which was paid for by my lovely Hubby! Ahhh !!  I'm a lucky girl.

So have you picked up any goodies lately!

Makeup look of the day...

So ladies, I thought I’d dazzle you with pictures of my make up look of the day.
The pictures are a little dodgy as I took them on my mobile at about 7.15 this morning. Excuse the dark circles, still in the process of making those bad boys disappear.

Being silly in the bathroom

Nothing out of this world, but I liked it.  I had to dust off a few products to achieve this look.

Now don't be scared...lol ...it's just me.

Close up of face

Close up of eyes

Urban decay's eyeshadow in Sin all over the lid with Twice Baked in the crease.  Blunt over the top of Twice Baked and up to the brow bone. Boots 17 liner in silver on the lower lash line.
The rest of the products....

.... and what they are:

Revlon colour stay foundation in Buff
Urban Decays Sin, Blunt and Twice baked
Laura Mercier Oil free Primer
Mac paint pot in Painterly
Collection 2000 lasting Perfection Concealer
Max Factor Lash Extension Effect
Boots 17 blushes; Bramble frost and Damson Wine

Blush swatches:

Inexpensive and pretty.  I used Bramble Frost as a highlight and Damson Wine as a blush.

Cue dodgy posing by me in my bathroom....
So vain..

So a sort of natural shimmery look?  I like it. I've forgotten how much I love my Urban Decay shadows.  I think I will bring them out to play again soon :- )

Night all,
