So long, farewell - Empties #2

For the last couple of weeks I’ve been working hard to use up half finished products.  A lot of my things be it bathroom or makeup products get used to a point then I have a tendency to move on to something else without finishing.  So its been a project called ‘sort it out Angela and de-clutter’.  So I thought I’d show you my recent empties as opposed to my monthly favourites . . .

I’ve managed to finished two of my favourite foundations,  there is no doubt in my mind that I will be repurchasing these two at some stage.  I think these are both great foundations especially my Bobbi Brown - Natural Finish Long Lasting Foundation.  I wore this foundation for my wedding back in 2010 -  this is how much faith I have in this product.   This gives a medium to full coverage, lasts all day and is oil free with an SPF25.  This is the second bottle of this and I do love it.  I will repurchase this as I think it's fabulously long lasting foundation.

The NARS Sheer Glow is favourite again, it suits my skin perfect when it comes to the colour.  It gives you this dewy 'glow' which makes you look healthy.  My only annoyance with this is the lack of a pump.  Is it really that difficult to provide a pump?

This little pot is my Corrector from Bobbi Brown.  Who knew such a small product could make such a difference and save me from my under eye circles (I have a under eye video here if you wish to see how I apply it)  If you have trouble with dark circles I urge you to pop to a Bobbi Brown counter asap to get a colour match.  In reality the Bobbi Brown corrector is a relativity new investment for me and I only started using in 2010.  Wedding day again.  I do think to myself how did I live without you??  Would I repurchase?  I already have! Hehe

Before I ever discovered Estee Lauder Double Wear eyeliners, this Dior Waterproof Eyeliner in the shade Trinidad Black was my go to liner.  Lasts really well and is great on my upper water line.  Would I repurchase it?  Probably no, but if ever Estee Lauder were to discontinue their eyeliners I would then consider repurchasing.

I am a fan of Liz Earle when it comes to the award winning cleanse and polish.  But sadly when I comes to Gentle Face Exfoliator this doesn’t float my boat.  Don’t get me wrong I like this but I’m not in LOVE.  I feel like it only scratches the surface,  it doesn’t give me a deep enough exfoliation.  I just need something more abrasive.  Now if you have sensitive or delicate skin then I would recommend this as it is gentle enough.  Would I repurchase?  Sorry but no.

And finally my bubble bath/shower gel from The Body Shop in the scent Japanese Cherry Blossom.  I'm a big  floral fan and I bought this along with the fragrance and the body puree.  It turns out in my house hold I'm not the only floral lover . . . it turns out the hubby likes floral fragrances too!!  It’s a nice product but I much prefer the Rituals shower gel.  A no to repurchasing :-(

Hope you enjoyed, night night everyone!

Happy Jubilee everyone!  Hope you're having fun no matter what you are up to.  Shame about the weather but it wouldn't be England without some rain.

Anyways I thought I'd start of my June blogging with a haul for you, which I have posted to my YouTube channel.  You can subscribe to me here if you wish and you can also see any other videos I have made!

Brands mentioned are Bobbi Brown, nail polishes from Essie, Collection 200 and Miss Sporty and some random bits and bobs from Superdrug.

Hope you enjoy!

Shopping my stash #part1

I am currently loving shopping my stash as opposed to hitting the shops.  It is a great money saver firstly and also it makes you rediscover items you have forgotten you owned once upon a time.  So I thought now and again I would shop my stash I show you my finds.

My most recent SMS (cheeky giggle) is the rediscovery of a gorgeous lip product by Bobbi Brown.

Pink Retro is a Creamy Lip Colour Lipstick which gives the perfect tint of pink to your lips.  I really love the formula to this, it so soft and creamy (hence the name) and it glides on with a long lasting glossy finish.

Now when I say glossy though I don't mean in the sense of 'sticky' glossy, I mean balm-like, which is really nice.  It does contain shea butter and skin conditioners which help moisturise and soften your lips.  I always find my lips are very soft after using this.  You also feel like you're wearing nothing on your lips and it looks very natural and not an overpowering colour.

I love the sleek packaging.  It's different as it actually metal not plastic, which makes it feel more glam.  Bobbi Brown retails this for £18.00 and there are 18 other amazing colours to choose from if Pink Retro doesn't quite float your boat.

Have you tried any Bobbi Borwn lip products?  Have you been shopping your stash at all?

Also apologises for being AWOL for the last couple of days.  I had no pre-written blog posts and I have been a bit busy.  I have also been suffering froma bit of bloggers block in terms of things to write about. . . but I am back!

So for now I bid you night night,

As promised

Hey every one, so as promised i’m reporting back after my Bobbi Brown session tonight. And you know what, I was thoroughly impressed.
The time taken by Stephanie; her advice, her skills, her personality – first class!! Thumbs up!! I really enjoyed being her blank canvas and she even admitted when we were finished, that she really enjoyed working with me. Two happy people.

So want to see the finished look Stephanie created (plus a little help from yours truly)

Sorry for the poor lighting, it was pretty dark. Admittedly you can't really see the look

In the flesh, I describe this look as perfecto! You can see makeup in the photos but it’s not OTT – kind of natural English rose-ish.

After discussion with Stephanie, we opted for warm tones which look better on me. Warm eyes, warm blush, warm lips : -)  We used Ivory eyeshadow all over the lid and then a warm matte Taupe eyeshadow.  She also used a shadow Birch on my brows.  Lined my eyes with gel liner Espresso Ink then added mascara.  She added just a little blusher and finished off with liner and lipstick.

I purchased some of the products Stephanie used on me, i know i have some duplicates lurking around my vanity somewhere. But here i the things i did buy.

Lip stick Sandwash Tulle (54) pale neutral pink- £15.50
Lip Balm SPF 15 - £13.50
Blush Desert Rose (15) Muted pinky brown - £16.50
Lip liner Ballet pink (29) pale neutral pink - £14.00
Natural Finish Long Lasting Foundation SPF 15 Warm sands 2.5 - £28.00

sorry for dodgy face...lol

So what do you think?  Is this very bridal you think?
My second session with Stephanie is August 5th......can't wait.  Have you booked or had a makeup session with anyone recently???

Night bloggers,

I have a date.....

I thought I’d do a small post just to let you know I’m off to get myself beautified at House of Fraser by a Bobbi Brown Consultant after work tonight. I booked this appointment a few weeks ago whilst looking for wedding makeup ‘ideas’. I had been to the MAC counter and had a makeup session with them previously. But I wanted to try something new and I’ve never tried Bobbi Brown before. So I thought lets do it!!!!

The Bobbi Brown stand at HoF City is usually overflowing with people having looks done and you never get a chance to get to talk to any consultants. I always thought this was rude that no was there to help, but it just goes to show how popular their counter is. So when one was free the other week when I was in store and said...”you can always book for a bridal make over” my instant reaction was “oh yes please”. : - )

It is an excellent deal. It costs £30 (payable on the day), and you get two sessions. Not just one. You get two sessions an hour each. And to make it even better, the £30 fee is redeemable against any purchase you make. Niceeee!

So tonight 5.45pm I have a date with Stephanie and her Bobbi Brown wisdom. I cannot wait!!

Pictures to come on a later post tonight. And if I pick anything up I’ll let you know what I get.

Oh P.S. You don’t just have to be a bride-to-be to have a beauty lesson. They do lots of other lessons. Just ask at your local counter or look online at Bobbi Brown’s website.

Lots of blogging love,

~ Angela xoxo
