No7 Stay Perfect Metallic Eyes Pencil ~ Green

So I have a new eyeliner to show you.  With Christmas coming I thought I'd try something a little fancy and I recently picked up this metallic eyeliner from No7 to try out.
Stay Perfect Metallic Eyes Pencil in Green

So it's called Green.  To me the name doesn't really do this product justice.  Green sounds a little boring, Emerald is much more alluring.  I mean if you see the swatches above, I'd hardly call this just an average green... green lagoon perhaps?

On the lash line and lid

This eyeliner promises a soft, stay perfect, creamy liner with an intense colour and shine.  No7 do break some of these promises.

Initially this is quite hard to use.  No7 say this is creamy, I personally have been warming the pencil on the back of the hand before applying to the lash line or eye lid as it just too hard.  Dragging on a tender skin area is a no no for me!

No7 promise a long lasting metallic liner.  I have found that this does like to smudge a little to begin with which is unfortunate.  So it's not particularly long lasting as promised.  As for the metallic promise No7 do keep to their word as this does have that metallic look about it.

Swatches time

In all honesty I like this but I don't think I'd be repurchasing sadly.  It's just too hard on the tender eye area, however I love the colour as it is intense and metallic.  If they made a softer version then perhaps I'd be swayed to repurchase it.

This is a little expensive for a drug store brand at £6.50, I'd rather spend the money on these babies which are better and longer lasting.

Boots No7 Voucher - What did I get??

Now none of us can say we haven't possessed a No7 voucher at least once in our life (I'd be shocked if you told me you hadn't, especially if you're a English girl Boots-Shopaholic like me anyway).  Half the time they end up going un-used,  but this time I decided to put the voucher to good use.

No7 have some what recently lauched their Spring Collection called Floral Brights.  I'm not normally drawn to No7, I've had a few items from the brand before but nothing that's made me feel like it was an amazing must have product.  So when I saw this in all its magnificent glory . . . I just had to touch it because it is stunning.

With its flowery 'floral' packaging the Vital Enlightening Highlighter is certainly a stop you in your tracks product. If you are taken by the the beauty of the packaging, then you'll be even more impressed especially when you open the gorgeous compact.

As for what's inside the beautiful packaging is something else which is just as amazing.  Hello beautiful!!!  A smooth lightweight luminous highlighter pressed into a matching floral shape just like the  flowery design on the lid.  To give you a glow to your face, neck and decollete ...which pretty much everyone needs after a long cold winter.

Now the finger swatch.....wow-wee!!!!  But hang on wait a minute . . . I shall not speak so soon - as my only slight concern after swatching is that shimmer you see in the photo only seems to be the first layer. After that, it just looks like a basic powder.  If you see the above picture I have swatched in the bottom right hand corner, now see the lack of shimmer as it's now on my finger! Hmmmm interesting.

The swatch on the hand... it looks great but this obviously has the 'top layer' shimmer so is this really what the product will look like???  Will it still be this glowing once the top layer shimmer has gone?  Who knows ...only time will tell.  But I do like this....for now.

I got £5 off with my voucher, so I got this for £8.00 - which I think is a fair price. If I'd walked past this without the voucher in my pocket and saw I had to pay the full price of £13.00 then I would of kept on walking.  Perhaps this is why my vouchers usually go to waste as I think No7 is slightly over priced??

When you get No7 vouchers from Boots, what do you buy? Do you have any No7 recommendations.

I heart shopping!

I really like a good shopping trip so yesterday my Hubby and I popped to Lakeside our local mall /shopping centre to browse the latest offerings. We had a little trip to IKEA as we’re looking to decorate our living room soon-ish. We also popped to a few shops and picked up so crazy bargains. We had Wagamama’s, an early celebration lunch/dinner of our one month anniversary on Monday. I seriously cannot believe we’ve been married a month already...utter madness. Anyway back to the haulage and bargains.

I needed to purchase a few bits and bobs from Boots. So I picked up this little lot...

Pantene Pro-V Shampoo & conditioner, Batiste Dry Shampoo in Diva, Model Own Polish in Purple Ash, No7 Eye Shadow Brush & 17 Mirror Shine lipstick in Beehive

With all this in my basket I headed to those self service tills. I scanned all my goodies and paid, then whilst waiting for my receipt out popped afterwards a voucher for £5 off my next purchases of No7 and Ruby & Millie items. Doh Doh and Doh! So the bargain shopper in me went to the No7 counter lady and pleaded with puppy dog eyes ‘I literally just bought this eye shadow brush by No7, can I refund it and buy it again with the £5 off....pleaseeeee??’ She said yes with a little grumpy face... :-) The No7 brush costs £6.50 and the voucher gives you £5 off, a makeup brush for £1.50.....who is crazy enough to let that go? Not me!

So introducing my bargain £1.50 No7 Eye Shadow Blend and Contour brush....

I’ve been wanting to get another MAC 217 brush which costs about £16, this brush is a complete dup. (Duplicate) and it’s short handled which I love. You can see in the pictures I’ve got a MAC 217 next to the No7 one....not much difference is there??

I also picked up one polish from Models Own new collection The Car Keys. The other colours didn’t wow me, but I’ve been after a nice purple for a while. So why not spoil myself! Just two coats and this looks perfect! See!

I’m currently loving nude lips right now. I love MAC’s Hue which I using at a rate of knots, so I’ve been on the cheaper alternative route. So strolling through the makeup aisles Boots 17 Mirror Shine Lipstick in Beehive called my name and asked to be bought. Lol not really, I’m not hearing voices! This was about £4.99 when MAC lipsticks are about £12. So creamy and glossy, I love this!

Finally Vaseline’s new Coca Butter Petroleum Jelly, definitely recommend you give this a sniff. It smells yummy! Vaseline is so versatile and we all need added moisturiser in the colder months. Buy buy buy I say!

This was a great haul for me, Boots always do offers like buy 3 get cheapest for free! I didn’t have to pay for Batiste Dry Shampoo, it costs £2.30 but both the Pantene’s cost £3.99....so I got it for free! I love these kinds of shopping trips.

Also picked up some winter knee boots from Next, which were £60...but because I had gift cards and returns to make, so I only had to pay £11!!! Whoop whoop!  Also picked up a top and cardigan from Primark, which was paid for by my lovely Hubby! Ahhh !!  I'm a lucky girl.

So have you picked up any goodies lately!
