OPI - Charged Up Cherry

A few weeks ago I got a manicure and this was my choice of colour.  At the time I did tweet this picture but I never blogged about it.  I always find it so hard when you go for a manicure.  When the girl says ' Would you like to pick a colour?' . . . it's always so hard just picking one!

OPI's Charged Up Cherry caught my attention, not just the shocking lovely colour but also the bottle was half empty . . . which in my eyes must be a tell tale sign the people of Essex love this colour.

Unfortunately for me, literally as soon as she was done I stuck my so called 'dry' hand and polished nails into my purse to retrieve my wallet and I chipped it. Doh!

I really loved this colour so I'm thinking a little ebay haul maybe on the cards so I can purchase this.  Woop woop!  What else should I buy??

I wish I were American. . .

. . . because you guys get Sephora by OPI.  Boo hiss!!  Jealous!!

(L-R) All About Shimmer and I Gotta A Blush On You

I never intended to buy this pair but when I went to Chicago the sales assistant in Sephora was wearing this combo.  I was left opened mouth saying 'I must have these'.  And that was that, the love story begins.

I Gotta A Blush On You

This stunning opaque ballet pink is beautiful alone without even adding the shimmer top coat.  Three coats and you get the perfect nail colour.  I love it!  Then you get to the shimmer part and the magic really happens.

One coat of All About Shimmer on top of I Gotta A Blush On You

The shimmer is a sheer champagne with micro/small gold shimmery glitter.   This polish is the perfect way to make any look you create become an eye catching manicure.  Like the the nails of the sales assistant in Sephora I was absolutely in love at first sight!  No joke.

These are truly amazing . . . my dream manicure colours.  I wish I could go to America just to pick up a new bottle of each.  Anyone want to be my friend and get these for me :-D

If Essie and OPI had a baby + NPOTW

Strange title for a blog post but my my if Essie's Turquoise & Caicos and Sephora by OPI's Top Coat in Spark-tacular!  had a baby it would be BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! See!!!!!

Not the best picture, but still........ full of gorgeousness don't you think?!?!?!

I popped to Sephora and saw the Top Coat in Spark-tacular! on the stand....and like a Magpie I was instantly drawn to it.  I swatched it on my thumb nail over the top of my Turquoise & Caico polish and then it happened......  I fell in love.

Isn't it just the most beautiful thing have ever seen?

I mean look at it ....perfection! The perfect marriage between a funky Tiffany Blue and a kaleidoscope of  rainbow colours of fine and chunky glitter.

One coat gives amazing pay off but two gives it even greater affect.

What do you think of this? Are you in love just like me????

NPOTW: OPI's - Parlez Vous OPI?

I'm a big fan of purple, it's one of my favourite colours.  One of my recent OPI/Ebay polish buys was OPI's - Parlez Vous OPI.  My description of this is (don't take my words as gospel though)  It's kind of a mid tone purple, not too dark ... not too light.  Kind of dusty.  I actually can't think of anything on the UK drug store polish market that is similar to this.  I could be wrong though, not seen every polish out there.

The perfect purple!!

You need a maxium of 2-3 coats, the polish isn't thin/thick/streaky.  It applies really well.  Definiately a 8 out of 10 from me.  To create the look I used all OPI products, here's the line up...

The 3 OPI's I use are:
Nail Envy Strengthener as a base, Parlez Vous OPI? and Rapidry top coat to finish

I can't fault the base and top coat.  I do find my polish lasts longer using the base and the top coat.  I especially like the base as it really does strenthen your nails.  I have a tendecy to suffer from nails that peel.

So what purple polish do you recommend?

NPOTW no.2 + OPI Gels

Hey everyone!!!!! Yay Spain won the World Cup. I’m so pleased Viva Espana. Whoop whoop!!! Anyways, so yesterday I gave myself a small treat, I had OPI gels done. Yay! It’s a reasonably new thing; it was launched March 2009 (so the lady in the beauty salon told me...)

So here are the before nails. They are pretty nice length for me and I’ve been wanted to preserve for my forth coming wedding (10 weeks left gosh...)

No polish, just plain old nails
So this NPOTW post isn’t a polish as such, more of a gel polish. I decided for a light colour. A baby pink and the lady in the salon gave me two to choose from....and the winner was OPI’s Apriotdites Pink Nightie. The system OPI use is the Axxium gel system service. It takes approximately 45-60 minutes to do. It is described as perfect for busy professionals, special occasions and holidays. - Any occasion really where you need a long lasting nail polish. OPI websites have quoted that it can last up to two weeks! Impressive.

The process for gels was something I hadn’t expected, having never had it done before. I thought you had a clear gel put on your nails then a polish applied over the top. I was surprised when I had a clear overlay gel, then a polish in gel form over the top and then a few more coats of the clear gel.
Want to see the finished look.....do you??? Here you go....
Pretty...?
I had my nails done for £25 which is about the average price in my area.  Some salons they can cost up to £40, so I'd definitely look around for the best prices.  When the 2 weeks is up, just pop back to your salon to get the gels soaked off.

So have you tried any thing like this?
