Friday Favourite #4

Gosh it's been a while since I blessed you with a Friday favourite.  A firm favourite and not just a Friday one is my Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks.

I've talked about these a lot... to which you're probably bored senseless!  However these are intense reds that will knock your socks off.  For a drug store these matte lipsticks are incredible.

The staying power is exceptional for a high street lipstick.  The matte texture is non drying and extremely long wearing even with food and drink.  They feel easy to wear and they do not bleed.  These are also great to wear without a lip pencil as they are THAT good.

February Favourites

Guess who is back?  It is I! 

This February I took a break from the blogging world to concentrate on me.  I don't want to force blog posts if I'm not in the mood or they'll be rubbish.  After a rest, I am now back.

The first post in March of course would be my February favourites...

Botanics Microdermabrasion Polish Radiant Youth hands down is my favourite skin care product... ever!  I wish we'd met long before now.  It is amazing at giving you silky baby soft skin and getting rid of the grime hidden in your pores.  Review here if you fancy a look.

Botanics BB Cream Radiant Youth is the best BB cream I have ever tried so far!  Light and gives amazing coverage at the same time!  Perfect for those days where we don't want to cake on our foundation.  What more do we need ladies and gents?!?

Soap and Glory Hand Food has been my saviour for my hands.  My hands have been suffering because of the gym and I had little calluses form from using too many heavy dumbbells!  This stuff has been working wonders on them.  Plus it smells so good, you could eat it... but don't try to please :-p

L'Oréal Shine Caresse Glosses in Romy, Eve and Princess have not really left my lips all of February.  The stains last for hours and are very glossy looking without being too sticky.  The three shades I have are very wearable.  They need the occasional touch up but are simply lovely.

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush is overtaking the buffing and stippling brush as the ultimate foundation brush. Flawless application is achieved every time I use this and I love it!  Certainly worth the investment.

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette has been my go to palette of shadows for February - as well as my NARS Isolde eyeshadow duo... yes I still love it.  I was and still am a big fan of the original naked Palette and I seriously don't know what took me so long to buy this!

ELF Warm Bronzer was something I initially didn't like and was planning to sell.  But after hearing some good things about it I changed my mind.  A little bit of this goes a long way.  The right amount of shimmer and golden glow is in this bargain product.

Benefit Hervana Blush was another product which I wasn't head over heels in love with initially   But it has been a grower and I like this little box.  A subtle pink which looks very English rose and delicate on the cheeks. Love love love.

Seventeen Doll'd Up Three Way Eyeliner is definitely going to be high street/drug store hit... A dupe for the Clarins version and about £15 cheaper. If you watch the video below you can see swatches on my hand and you'll understand why I'm loving this.

Seventeen Doll'd Up Curl Mascara is great mascara for keeping a curl and you do look all dolled eyed wearing this.  This is the first Seventeen mascara I have ever tried and I'm liking it lots.

Essie Chinchilly is the perfect neutral beige grey shade. Great for every day wear.  If you're a lover of Nails Inc Porchester Square I think you'd love this beaut!

Rimmel 5 in 1 Top and Base Coat is a cheap product which hits a lot of excuse the pun nails on the head in one sweep.  A base coat, treatment and top coat in one bottle.  This is the perfect item for those of you wanting one product does all.

Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick ~ 107

I have never been that daring, especially when it comes to lip colours.  Hey I don't mind wearing something bright and bold whilst I'm doing the ironing, but when it comes to venturing outside I stick to 'safe' colours.

However when I decided to film my bold red lip video I knew I needed something über daring. This is where Kate Moss comes in... Well not literally!

Rimmel London Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in 107

She's bold, daring and damn right scary... But actually I'm quite fond of this matte lippy. A great autumn winter shade this deep  berry red shade will suit any skin tone more or less.

I love that this is matte as I think if this had been a glossy finish I wouldn't of been so keen to try it.  Where this matte I think it looks better on the lips, more natural so to speak (if you ignore the big bold part anyway). If it had been glossy I think it would of been over kill.

The staying power of this is superb and it doesn't budge for hours, it is really long lasting which I love. I found it easy to apply as it was creamy.  My advice before applying this is to exfoliate your lips and use a lip balm to prep the skin. I found it easier to apply to soft silky lips rather than dry rough ones.

Considering I was apprehensive in purchasing this I have actually worn it a few times and had some good comments. I feel comfortable wearing this almost to the point I don't realise I'm actually wearing it.

For my first experience of the Kate Moss lipstick I would give it a big thumbs up.  Plus the lipsticks are so purse friendly at £5.49 you'd be crazy not to buy.

Beauty Tip: You cannot escape!

Random name for a post I know but I thought it was fitting.  Kind of.  These days products are a tad expensive and you always want to get every last drop, scoop, ounce of products from you tubes and pots.

I mentioned these products in an empties post a while back but as I was about to recycle them I thought I'd see what was trying to escape without being used.

So taking a pair of scissors... be careful now if you try this.  I cut the packaging about half way down, all the way a cross.  You have to remember to keep the cut off part as this will come in handy.

Once I cut it off I looked inside and was surprised by how much left over product is inside.  Lots of expensive beauty product would of ended up at a plastic recycling centre some where if I hadn't been a little curious!

As for the other end of the tube... I popped this back on the other end by slightly bending the main part of the tube into a curved C shape.  The products will be safe and sound and ready for use.

Cool tip which you've probably heard before but I thought I'd share :-)

Essie/Nails Inc/TopShop

Whilst rummaging through ever expanding nail polish collection I came across a common thing. I seem to like turquoise.

These three could be related. Distant cousins perhaps.  In the bottles they all have their slight differences but once you apply them to the nails they pretty much look the same.

When it comes to comparing the polishes and how they apply I will say that TopShops Pool Party is sprinting ahead.  Nails Inc Haymarket is seconds behind leaving Essie Turquoise and Caicos covered in dust.

I own quite a few Essie polishes now and this one is slightly disappointing. It takes three coats to get a good coverage whilst Haymarket and Pool Party you can just apply two.  Pool Party if applied thick enough could actually be applied in just one coat. Amazing huh?!

Now for prices.  The most expensive is Haymarket at a tad expensive £11.  Second up is Essie at £7.99. Then there is my favourite Pool Party at £5.  If I had to repurchase any of these it would certainly be Pool Party.  Not because it is cheaper (but that does help) but because it just better than the rest.  Simple really.

Revlon Colourstay Shadow Stick in Smolder

If you're a follower of my blog you'd know not that long ago I picked up my first Revlon Colourstay Smokey Shadow Stick in Torch (review here).  I love Torch, they are the perfect colours for a lazy everyday makeup look and are seriously easy to use.  I knew I'd buy others from the collection... and I have.... Smolder.

Bottom L-R: light and dark

As the name suggests this is a dark shadow duo.  But instead of being your usual black and grey this is slightly different. A blue-grey tone base colour and a dark forest green for shading and definition. 

The shadows, like the Torch i reviewed previously last a good amount of time.  There is no creasing or movement of the shadow... they stay put for hours.  

They are smooth and are easy to apply/blend and both these colours work very well together.  They take on a metallic look on the skin... which catch the light very well as you can see on my swatches below.

Perfect for a smokey eye look which will take no effort at all I'm really looking forward to creating some looks with this.  Who knows I may even film a tutorial! Watch this space.

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Black Eyeliner

I think I may be in love and I will tell you the reason why that is!  Like most girls I love a good old smokey eye look.  However I am prone to have oily skin quite a lot, so unfortunately having oily skin makes products slip and slide.  Boo who!

Well let me introduce you to my saviour...

The pencil and swatches. 

The black waterproof Scandal Eye liner is my knight in shinning armour.  This stuff glides on like butter but stays put like a permanent marker.  Truly amazing!

I normally steer clear of liner on my lower lash line because I tend to look like a panda after a while, but now after using this a few times I feel much more confident that it will not move.

The pictures above show swatches.  The left one is just after application.  The right picture has actually been smudged, literally one minute after I have applied to the skin. Hardly no movement at all... impressive yes?

For under £4 this is a must have ladies, they do sell other colours too (you can see pictures here). I'll be honest and tell you guys that I'm using this more than my high end liners, it's that good!

I will post some eye looks soon but as I'm abroad at the moment I cannot up load pictures :-(

So long farewell - Empties #5

This month I thought I was going to skip my empties. I was thinking I didn't have enough to count as a big collection for a post or video.

Well I was wrong... I have done well again, not like previous months but I did good.  Look at me giving myself praise!  So what have I used up?

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish ~  My everyday face wash without fail!  Gets rid of every bit of dirt and grime including waterproof mascara.  I love it!  I have purchased more already.  My only annoyance is you cannot buy it on the high street.

Rituals Yogi Flow Shower Gel ~ This is my second can of this and I cannot get enough.  I love it.  A gel which magically transforms into a soapy lathe which smells divine   A small amount goes a long way and the can lasts for ages.  I thank Glossy Box for introducing us.  See my review here.

Soap and Glory Glad Hair Day ~ I do like this but as I seem to wash my hair 5 days a week (I'm a gym-aholic if you're wondering) this tube only lasted five minutes.  It smells great and leaves the hair very shiny and nourished.  But I wouldn't buy it again except for a special treat.

Eucerin Intensive Foot Cream ~ As I have dry feet this works wonders.  Apply it to clean feet then put on cotton socks and go to bed and you'll wake up with a amazingly soft feet. The tube is a little small for my liking.  But it's still something I'd repurchase.

Johnson's and Simple Face Wipes ~ As these are facial wipes I thought I'd collaborate them as there is not much I can say... they are face wipes after all.  They remove makeup and are handy if you feeling a little lazy to get up and go to the bathroom sink to use the Liz Earle.  Also great for the gym bag!  I will say though the Simple ones are oil balancing....I saw no differences to the Johnson's ones....weird?!

Radox Muscle Soak ~  After the gym and I ache like hell I do like a good old Radox bubble bath.  Pretty inexpensive this has always been a favourite as Radox has been around forever.  I've repurchased numerous times.  You could probably pick it up in the 99p shop.

Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Supplement ~ I do love Bobbi Brown I think her skin care items are great and I love her hydrating eye cream.  You can certainly feel and see a difference when you use this.  A little expensive but it's Bobbi...she's a legend.  I'd be interesting in trying other serums but just don't know what to pick!

Caudalie Beauty Elixir ~ There are billions of reviews of this stuff and I was reading them and not bating an eye lid until one day I caved.  I can see why people love it.  It refreshes and makes pores smaller....whats not to love?

September Favourites

Yes I'm slightly late but hey, you don't mind do you?  I'm always fashionably late.  Looking back on my blog I feel like it's been forever since I did a favourites post.  I've been all about the empties - which I do have a post on route for you.  Go me!

Practically every item I mention here does have an individual review on, with the exception of some.

Clarins Ever Matte ~ I had to mention this really, it was a must.  Ever since I bought this I have felt the urge to ditch all my other foundations.  I think this is the best foundation I have ever come across.  It has become my new and only bestest friend.  I have a full review here.

TopShop Nail Polish in Pool Party ~ A fun, bright colour I don't think this is a just for summer colour.  For a £5 polish the application is amazing.  You could easily get away with my coat.  And the lasting power is exceptional too!  Swatches here!

Stila Eyeshadow in Sun ~  I've had this lurking around for sometime but never tend to reach for it.  But I felt like I needed an eye catching shadow and opposed to usually reaching for Kitten I opted for this instead. Very neutral ...it's perfect for an all over the lid look, especially on a lazy makeup day.

MeMeMe Boho Balm in Pink Rouge ~ I took to Jersey with me and used it everyday.  As you can see from the below picture it is getting a lot of attention as it's a bit yucky looking.  I love the pink for the cheeks.  It gives a beautiful flush almost like a natural glow.  I have used the red/coral on my lips too which looks stunning.  See my review and swatches here.

TopShop Cheek Duo Dessert Sun ~  Soon to become a favourite blush this is a subtle colour.  It looks big and bold in the pan but trust me when I say it's much more delicate than it looks. If you want to see swatches see my review here.

MeMeMe Pink Rouge, TopShop Dessert Sun and Stila's Sun 

I have a few more favourites which I like to call tools...

Caudalie Beauty Elixir ~ A cult favourite and I can see why.  This just makes me feel good when I spritz it on my face.  It refreshes and makes pores smaller and it's a small bottle which you can take anywhere!

Real Technique Buffing and Contour Brushes ~ Part of the Core set I don't think I've really put these down lately.  The buffing brush is perfect for applying my Clarins, it buffs it in perfectly with no streaking.  For flawless foundation application I'd buy the set just for the buffing brush.  Now the contour brush is what I've been using to apply my MeMeMe cream blush,  it's the perfect size and so soft it makes applying cream blush effortless.  I totally recommend the Core Set.

Shu Uemera Eye Lash Curlers ~  I never used to be that fussed about curling my lashes but now I own the cult favourite eye lash curler I just cannot stop myself from curling every morning.  My curl does fall out slightly but that's probably my lashes or maybe my mascara not helping.... I'm not sure.  I think I need some eye lash curling tips.

Friday Favourite # 2

I thought I show you one of my favourite foundation brushes for this Fridays 'Friday Favourites'.  It is the delightful Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki Brush.  This synthetic brush is the quality of some high end brand brushes but it is literally half the price.

A great brush for buffing liquids into the skin and giving a flawless and even look to any foundation you apply.  It has very soft bristles which are very gentle on the face and do not irritate.  They are packed together tightly and are very dense - giving the flat top kabuki look to the brush.  I've had no shedding experiences with this brush so far and it still looks as good when I first bought it early last year.  If you wish to achieve an air brushed makeup look then this brush is something I definitely think is worth investing in.

Available from US company website here, they do international shipping on all their products however there are also online stores in the UK which sell the brush and other Sigma brushes.  I ordered mine through the Sigma site and luckily haven't had to pay any Royal Mail/Customs import fees . . . yet!

MAC Lipstick ~ Sweetie

When I first got this lipstick it was one of those shades I wasn't quite keen on and said to myself why did I get you??  My initial thoughts were not positive, I liked it but wish I'd chosen something else instead.  Well times have changed and now this lustre is one of my go to MAC lipsticks.

Swatches and the tube

A plumy raspberry colour Sweetie is not a MAC lipstick you hear about all to often.  I like this personally as it can appear quite bold and I'm not too fond of bright reds, so it's nice to chose something else that I feel makes a big impression.  Sweetie is quite similar to Lustering and Plumful which I picked up a while ago after a Back2MAC session  - click here.  Also in the lipstick there is a very fine mirco-glitter which cathces the light perfectly.

Considering this was a Back2MAC, I'm pretty impressed with my buy.  I would certainly pay full price for this lipstick.

Estee Lauder ~ Sensuous Nude

I own a lot of perfumes - too many to many to be honest . . . I am a bit of a magpie for them!  However I dare say there is another girl out there with more than me so in the end it doesn't make me feel too bad!

One of my go to scents at the moment is the Sensuous Nude parfum spray by Estee Lauder.  Don't get this confused with the other Estee Lauder Sensuous fragrances (there is also Sensuous and Sensuous Nior) this is the Nude version.

The bottle

When describing perfume smells I am terrible, I'm hardly a genius at it unfortunately.  Beautiful is how I would describe it essentially.  But i will say it has a warm smell which is kind of feminine and woody - musky if you prefer but not too strong.  Not to sound silly but the name I think fits this perfectly,  it does feel sensuous on the skin.  I feel like I would be quite happy to literally wear just this perfume if you know what I mean.  A strange way to describe it but it just feels like how your skin would or should smell.

If you are a fan of sickly sweet girly smells then Sensuous Nude will not be for you.  I feel like this is more for a mature late 20's early 30's woman.  It is quite a subtle smell which lasts on the skin for around 2 hours (not long sadly) so it does need a top up through the day.  This is probably the only negative that it doesn't last all day :-(

I love the packaging as well with its rose gold cap and light pink bottle.  There is also ribbing on the back of the bottle in a sensuous curve shape. . . a very pretty bottle to have on any ladys dressing table!

Friday Favourite # 1

I thought I’d do a quick post regarding my Friday Favourite.  I keep seeing lots of bloggers showing their favourite items on a Friday so thought i would tag along for fun. 

Ever since I started using my Macadamia Healing Oil Spray at the beginning of the year my hair has been nothing but soft and smooth and just so lovely.  The kind of hair which you just want to touch constantly!

This product is a miracle in a bottle.  It is a ultra fine mist which rejuvenates, moisturises and makes hair more manageable.  It just makes your hair feel more healthy and nice basically.  What I love the most is the shine and softness of the hair.  Every time I use this I feel like I have been to the salon to get my hair professionally done.  It feels luxurious!

Even though it is an oil your hair will not feel oily after using it.  The mist is so fine and it is absorbed into the hair very fast – there is no lasting residue. What I usually do is when my hair is towel dried I spray over my hair concentrating on the mid-section and ends.  I then blow dry and style with my GHDs.  Once I’m done I spray over the hair again.  I also spray it into my hands and rub it into the tips of my hair so they get a little extra TLC as that is where my hair tends to suffer with heat damage.

The perfect alternative to foundation!

These days I'm constantly at the gym, hence the lack of blogging and videos . . . sorry :-(  Getting fit comes at a price.  I'm usually there four times a week and it can be quite time consuming.  Anyways when it comes to my skin, whilst training I usually like some sort of coverage.  As I mainly go straight from work I don't remove my makeup.  But sweat, makeup and open pores don't normally go together well.  Breakouts!!!!

I've decided to try and be a good girl and start to remove my makeup before hand and just wear a tinted moisturiser of some sort.  I thought I'd try out the Origins VitaZing with the sheer tint release.  I like the fact that this moisturises and gives a radiant looking glow - almost like you have been abroad.  It's one of those easy products that you could slap on if you're just popping to the shops or you just want a less than full coverage look.  It's also great for the beach or pool if you don't like baring all as it contains SPF 15, so it protects your skin.

Very good for hydrating and making the skin feel plump, when wearing this you just feel like you don't need to wear anything else.  VitaZing, mascara, lipgloss and perhaps an eyeshadow and blush that's literally all you can wear - It just makes you feel comfortable.  Staying power for me personally - it is not the greatest at lasting my punishing gym sessions . . . however I do sweat like I'm in hell.  Gross I know . . . sorry!  The coverage is good, but if you're having a bad day and have break outs or dark circles it's not going to cover those for you - as it is only a sheer tint.

This is what it looks like straight from the tube.  It comes out like a white cream/lotion with little black looking micro beads in it.

Picture 2 - 
Starting to blend into the skin.  You can see around the top edge of the swatch it is just starting to change into the tinted colour.

Picture 3 - 
The colour has now changed from the white colour lotion into a tinted colour.  You can still blend into the skin.

Picture 4 - 
This is the swatch blended into the skin.  You can see in the middle of the picture where the tint is on the skin.

So to some up this product, I will say it's definitely worth having a look at it if you're shopping near by a Origins counter.  I think it is one of those products you should swatch or ask for a sample tube before maybe spending the pennies as it does cost £27.00.  The tinted colour is slightly on the orangey side so if you have really fair skin then I recommend a look first.  However if you have medium colour skin then you may be able to get away with it.

Once the tube has all gone, would I repurchase?  Yes perhaps, but for me this isn't a necessity.  There are other tinted moisturisers out on the market that work just as well but for half the price.  But I wouldn't say no to buying again.

Dead Sea Spa Magik ~ Salt Brushing Review

Have you ever received a gift and wasn't quite sure what to make of it?  When it was my birthday (last December) my mother-in-law bought me the Dead Sea Spa Magik - Salt Brushing.  I thought it was a slightly random present - unexpected as she usually buys me wine!! Yummmm!!

This sat for a while in my beauty box and started to gather dust until I thought lets give this a whirl.  This product is fabulous for getting rid of dead skin and for combating that dreaded C world . . . cellulite!  Obviously you cannot just get rid of cellulite, it's all down to genetics, DNA and age.  Most girls will get it whether they like it or not.  Sorry ladies.  However we can do things to help it not be so visible.

Inside the pot . . .

The product itself is mainly made up of salt (from the Dead Sea) and coconut oil with added vitamin E.  The coconut oil nourishes and hydrates the skin and the salts remove rough and dry skin to leave it remarkable soft.

Before your bath or shower you scoop a little product into your hand and apply to the dry skin in circular motions.  Once completed you then rinse the skin and pat it dry.  One a occasions when I have used it, my skin has felt a little tingly.  It's not a uncomfortable feeling more a refreshing feeling.

This little list I borrowed from numerous websites but the Salt brushing helps with the following:

- Helps break down adipose tissue
- Reduces cellulite
- Detoxifies the body
- Increases lymph flow
- Improves blood circulation
- Speeds up cell metabolism and stimulates cell regeneration
- Relaxes the muscles
- Soothes nerve endings.

What it looks like . . .

Overly I'm impressed with this and annoyed with myself I didn't start using this earlier.  But good things come to those who wait I suppose.  One more thing about this product it is suitable for vegans and vegetarians :-)

So long, farewell - Empties #3

I've been very very good and tried long and hard to use up lots of products.  I think I have been quite successful.  See . . .

The mass of empties

I have split the empties into three different photographs below.  One is makeup/skin care, two is hair/body products and three is facial and miscellaneous products.

Picture One:
·        As you can tell I love the One by One Voulm’ Express by Maybelline, there are two empty tubes.  I have a full review here if you wish to see pictures and hear my thoughts.  But one word to describe this is da bomb!  Well that’s two words.
·        Estee Lauder Double Wear Zero Smudge is my favourite mascara for those bottom lashes, it doesn’t move an inch.  No panda eyes for me – no sir!  A tad expensive but totally worth it if like me your bottom lash mascara likes to move this your under eye area.
·        Bobbi Browns Hydrating Eye Cream is hands down my favourite eye cream.  I’m sad that I have finished this pot and I’ll definitely be buying more.  My under eyes always feel hydrated after using this.  Wrinkles and puffiness be gone!
·        For a little freebie from Sephora this Balenciaga Paris perfume was a hit!  I am really tempted to buy a full size bottle.  It is quite a strong scent which I like.  It feels like it lasts a long time on the skin.
·        I love my Bobbi Brown Face Base primer (review here),  but if I ever needed another different one I was opt for the Laura Mericer Oil Free Primer.  This makes your makeup go on smoothly and makes it last all day!
·        Another freebie is the L’Occtaine Immortelle Precious Cream – I really notice a difference when I used this, my skin just feels firmer.  I have already repurchased a full size pot.
·        My L’Oreal Super Liner is ancient it should be dead like the dinosaurs.  I’ve had this for years –shamefully.  But it was time to say goodbye, even though it still works. Bacteria and sensitive eyes do not mix well.
·        My not so bothered about product here, is the Simple Radiance Brightening Moisturiser, its just a basic moisturiser which is light reflecting - nothing fancy.  I struggled to finish this if I’m honest but perseverance with using this has been worth it.

·        I love bargains and my £1 Boots Zingy Lime Shower Gel is perfect for the gym.  I've recently purchased the Lemon version which smells yummy.
·        My Original Bastise Dry Shampoo, what can I say!?  Hmmm I love it! 
·        Nivea Pearl and Beauty antiperspirant mini bottle is perfect for the gym.  I like it so much I’d buy a full size bottle.  It has a nice scent.
·        Another much loved product is the Macadamia Healing Oil – I don’t know how I ever lived without this product.  It's now a must have in my hair routine.
·        The Original Source was the husbands until I stole it.  He kept using my Original Source Raspberry and Vanilla so I stole his Mint one. Haha revenge is sweet!

Picture Three:

·        Johnson Normal Skin Face Wipes are always going to be a repurchase for me.  They never dry out in the packet and remove makeup and even waterproof mascara without any trouble.
·        For a £1 bottle of Boots Nail Polish remover this lasts ages.  I can't really say too much since well it is nail polish remover!!
·        Liz Earle Soothing Eye lotion is sooo lovely.  It's so refreshing I would certainly buy more if it was easier to get my hands on.
·       Garnier Blackhead scrub is ok for a scrub but I didn't see much improvement when it came to combating the blackheads.  I won't be buying this again.

Collection 2000 Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner

I love felt tip liners, they are so fast to apply you'll be literally done and dusted in a matter of minutes.  I thought I'd share with you a favourite of mine.

The Collection 2000 Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner in black is one of those liners i think everyone should try and buy.  At £2.99 it is so cheap and for a drug store liner I think it ticks all the boxes.

The felt tip itself is sturdy and will not bend.  It will give a fantastic thin, medium and thick line depending on your preference.  It is also so easy to create flicks and cat eyes.  It dries very fast which I love as I hate liners that take forever to dry.  As for staying power, it does last a very very long time.  I haven't worn it for 24 hours but it has stayed put throughout a sweaty work-out at the gym - which is obviously a good sign of  its staying power.

The Extreme liners come in a range of colours from black, purple, blue and teal which is perfect for mixing up looks.  Not many brands sell different colour liners for such a good price.

Collection 2000 do mention on their website that this isn't suitable for contact lens wearers.  However I would personally disagree as I've worn it a few times with my lenses and haven't had any trouble . . . yet!

Clarins Ever Matte Foundation Review

I believe I have a problem, I think the diagnosis should be called a foundation-aholic.  My motto about foundations at the moment is you have to kiss a few ‘frogs’ to find the perfect one.  After kissing some ugly frogs I think I may have found my prince!


I have popped my Clarins cherry as this is my first ever purchase from the brand and I feel like I have struck gold.  The non-pushy sales girl was so helpful when it came to trying out the Clarins foundation line up.  We talked and discussed my skin and found out its wants and needs and I was suited with the Ever Matte in the shade Ivory 103.  As she said to me this is perfect for you oily skinned girls and the shade matched me perfectly.  Almost so perfect you couldn’t actually see where she’d applied it, something which I love.

The bottle

The packaging is lovely, very sleek and I love the fact the tube isn't at all heavy.  It is a thin tube, unlike the big bulky bottles of MUFE HD and Benefit Hello Flawless.   It's very 
inconspicuous and handy to travel with.  I regularly put my makeup on whilst travelling, so a light bottle is perfect!  


The foundation itself is amazing.  It's very light in texture and when you apply it to the skin it gives you a beautiful flawless coverage.  It is matte from the moment you apply until you remove it.  The coverage is light to medium and you don't need much at all to cover the whole face.  What is great about this foundation is you feel like your skin can breathe.  It doesn't clog pores, it just feels like your own skin.  Exactly how a foundation should be!

Swatches

It is oil free which is great, as I don't want add oils to my already oily skin.  It contains SPF 15, which protects the skin from the harmful sun rays.  This foundation is know for its 'skin balancing' properties - helping with regulating oil production and purifying the skin.  It tightens the pores and absorbs oils on the skin like a sponge.  It also has a noticeable scent - which i like but some people may not.  You only notice it when you first apply it, then it disappears.

So have I found a new holy grail?  Would I repurchase this once I’ve finished the tube?  Definitely!  I will admit I am thinking this has replaced my beloved Make Up For Ever HD as holy grail foundation.  I recently dusted off my HD and used it and it felt thick on my skin.  I’m so used to this light feeling foundation now, it is something I really want to stick to.  Also the bonus is I can walk into a store and pick up Clarins in the UK unlike MUFE HD :-(

Sanctuary Spa ~ Body Moisture Spray

I have a new favourite miniature for my handbag.  I have to say this is yummy and is the perfect baby-size for my handbag.  My new favourite is the Sanctuary Spa Body Moisture Spray.  With its signature Sanctuary Spa smell this is an ultra-light moisture spray which instantly hydrates and gives a healthy sheen to the skin.

Packed full of sweet almond, jojoba and vitamin E - it is a conditioning oil spritz which does not leave the skin oily but leaves it silky and smooth.  As this is a miniature it’s only 50ml, which is great for taking on a plane as it is the correct size for security reasons.

My Top 10 MAC Eyeshadow - Swatches!

Back in April I blessed you all with my Top 10 MAC eyeshadows.  At the time I never did swatches, but after a request to do so -  I have dug out the famous 10 and taken their mug shots for you all to see.

I will say before I start this post properly, this is basically a picture post.  Not very many words as I wrote about the shadows on the initial post here.
