Morning Skin Care

These days I am really taking skin care seriously. It has suddenly dawned on me I'm not as young as I used to be. Sigh. I know growing old is a good thing as so many don't get the chance but the thought still does scare me just ever so slightly.

A few weeks back, I splashed out on some new skin care products which I had been lusting over for a while.  I have been using them ever since because I am in love.  I have slotted them into my existing routine and below is an updated list of all the items I have been using on my face.

Liz Earle | Cleanse and Polish
I love loooooove this stuff, I couldn't imagine my life without it. This product makes that awful chore of makeup removal so easy and fast. Liz Earle and I are friends for life. If you have not tried this, give it a go.  I promise you'll love it.

Simple | Smoothing Scrub
This is my go to scrub if I want gentle (but excellentexfoliation. There is just something about this inexpensive scrub that works a treat on my skin. A pea sized amount goes far and you will get yourself baby soft skin.

Estée Lauder | Advanced Night Eye Cream*
Bags and dark circle run in the DNA of my family so for quite a few years I have been on a mission to combat them.  I had been using Bobbi Browns Hydrating Eye Cream for years but I fancied a change.  This little sample has lasted longer than expected and I will be buying a big old pot once this is gone.  I have noticed my eyes do look smoother.  Big grin!

Estée Lauder | Advanced Night Repair
I can see why this is award winning. Since I got this I can't put it down. Your skin use feels so good after using it. A morning and evening product, a large bottle I have been told will last 5 to 6 months. It can be expensive but it's entirely worth the money if you use it consistently.

Estée Lauder | Idealist Pore Minimising Skin Refinisher
As time ticks on pores are raising their heads and this is my weapon of choice to try and take them down! Die you evil pores! Pardon my out burst but I honestly don't like seeing myself get pores, it makes me sad that my skin is changing.  I know it something I will have to come to terms with one day.  But for now I'll fight on with this by my side. I have not been let down by the smoothing affect this gives my skin and I think I'm seeing some improvements. Yayyyyyy!

Estée Lauder | Advanced Multi Protection Anti-Oxidant Creme*
I've used a few moisturisers in my time but this is probably the best that I have used as I feel it gives me long lasting moisture.  A thick cream product which smells of cucumber and it also has SPF 15.  Fabulous!  It protects my face from the evils of the sun and moisturises.  Who wants wrinkles and dry skin....no one!

Clarins | Beauty Flash Balm
There is something so good about this balm, be it the feel on your skin or the smell.  It's just a wonder product.  When I put this on, I just automatically feel revived and alive. You can use it in two different ways (a 15 minute face mask or a foundation primer).  I usually throw it on as a primer or just before bed. I think I tend to over use it. Oops! Hangs head in shame.

So that's it.

I hope you liked my morning skin care routine.  If you want to see me in action, click to my YouTube channel link here or click below to see these products in full swing.

What do you love on your skin in the morning?

Hello ... guess who?

Hey everyone, long time no speak.

So it's been a while since I blogged on good old jolly and even made a video on my YouTube channel.  There are lots of reasons for this and I will not bore you with every detail.  However I have made a recent video to explain why I went AWOL, trust me it wasn't an exciting reason.  But if want to know ... head on over to my channel http://www.youtube.com/jollybeachang or click below you will know why.

I hope you've all been well and you haven't all left me. I shall be returning shortly with posts.

Simple Moisture Boost Hydro Mist

If you are a frequent traveller, you'll know how dehydrating your skin can get.  Flying long haul and even short haul can be hard on your skin... however even travelling on the London Underground (Subway or Metro for you non-UK folk :-) ) can also be a yucky business.  Hot... sticky... humid... recycled air... hardly a lovely place to be.

I always carry a refreshing facial spray when I travel and the one I have been reaching for lately is this one by Simple.  The Moisture Boost Hydro Mist provides a instance moisture fix just when you need it.  The light mist is fast absorbed into the skin and doesn't make you look 'wet' faced.  Full of multi vitamins like vitamin E and pro vitamin B5 and skin loving lotus flower and glycerin.  Not full of any harsh chemical nasties or artificial perfumes this is 'simple' and gentle to the skin.  Hold at arms length from your face, close yours and spray two to three pumps... job done - simple!  Before and after application of makeup and throughout the day, as many times as you like.  Go crazy.

I have used other brands of moisture boosting mist products i.e. Caudalie Beauty Elixir and Vichy Eau Thermal which are both lovely but more expensive.  This is easy to reach for and not a big bulky item to carry around with you.  This palm sized bottle is a must have for me and I'd buy again and again....and it is a travel friendly 50ml bottle size.  Perfect for travelling!

You can find it anywhere and the price is not going to make your purse strings cry and beg for mercy.  It usually retails for at £5 which you might think is a tad expensive for a little bottle of 'water', but trusty Boots and Superdrug always have Simple on buy three for two offers or buy one get the other half price deals, so you can get this on offer if you shop around.

Have you tried and mists for the face?  Have are your favourites?
